No it’s not way too early. They’re done after next week my guy…

Possible. Logically likely.

But regardless of your feelings of what will happen next week you have an entire off season of free agency, draft, coaching moves, mini-camps and preseason to go through. So yes.. too early.

Unless of course you are the type that believes that all 31 teams will improve while the Packers will be the only one to regress then sure.. they will go 0-17.

By the logic that they were out played all day and needed a guy to get a finger on a game-winning field goal when they couldn't stop the bears from driving down the field like yesterday.

I'll bite.

If someone accepts that they were a finger from 0-6 then you must likewise accept that they were 1-2 plays from being 5-1. Unless you are of the mindset that outcomes can only be discussed that would result in a negative impact to the Packers (which seems to be a large swatch of NFL fans). They were probably 1-2 plays from a very large variance of game outcomes which, if you look across the NFL, is probably true for a number of games and teams and that includes the Vikings, Lions and Chiefs.

However, regardless of playing positive/negative what-ifs for the entire season, the variables for which that game was played would have completely changed if the FG wasn't blocked. Possible they would have been in a win in, lose go home scenario which would have had them playing different players so you can not say 'FG was blocked and they would have lost this one regardless'

The other aspect. Did the 3 man rush work?

Who in here thinks Dan Campbell rushes 3?? Raise your hand
The 3 man rush rarely if ever works but yet you see it by the Packers way too often as well as from other poorly coached teams. It's basically a 5 on 8. That leaves two guys in single coverage. Those two guys will get open given enough time which the QB has all day to throw.

Let's hope so. What a joke
Watson is still on a rookie contract so they'll bring him back for one more season. He's not yet done in GB but the Packers no doubt have to draft another fast WR to provide competition because get just not dependable. Like I've posted before, some guys just can't play in the NFL be their body is like glass even though they have talent galore.

The Packers think Mellon is fast. And he probably times fast but is not football fast. I liked it last year when he was catching some balls medium down the middle. I wonder what happened to those plays? And anyway, Heath should be playing more than him. Is he playing for the really scary jet sweep?

That’s actually along the lines of what I was thinking. Bo runs 4.3’s and he’s one of only a minority with requisite speed to beat Man coverage. I’d use him in that capacity and I’d make a deliberate point of targeting him over the top a couple times earlier to keep D’s honest. It’s more we already had that Speed guy in #9. Melton is MVS fast but more past 20 yards.

Yes. Imo your ideal body type is Jordy size. 6’3-218lb. Watson is pretty thin (6’4 208lb) and I’d rather a 6’1”-6’2 WR in that 210-220 area. I put WR as a top Two need. I wouldn’t even cry if they took one at #22 overall etc if they thought he was refined enough to play substantially earlier in his Rookie season.
I have CB and WR as our two biggest needs. I’d go after either in FA but keep it under $20m annual area, then draft the other in that Day1 or Rd2 at latest.

So Love starts the regular season getting hurt and ends it getting hurt. Bad mojo.
Yeah. The only thing I’ll offer is he’s not really hurt at this moment. It was a stinger and Matt almost put him back in when Malik stung his finger. I think it was more the cold embellished the initial pain and then we really didn’t need to risk Love getting hurt further. Especially after watching Watson go through something similar.
I know us fans didn’t like it but I think you’d agree that was the right decision. Love health was more important big picture. B

When we have sent Mellon long; he does not get separation.

Even if that works, it only solves half the problem. By the time you do that, Detroit has dropped 40 on you.
Detroit has never dropped 40 on GB. I would argue the opposite holds true. By playing the take what they give you approach you retain possession and keep their Offense off the field.

Once again. We targeted our RB just 3 times all day in the pass. That’s not going to play to our strength.
Now I agree in this game we were probably running good enough to average about the same per target. Our strength is getting guys in SPACE. Across our last 3 Divisional games we’ve had 3 targets to our RB group. Think about that and let that marinate. IMO it’s egregious after touting all offseason how we would involve Jacobs more passing. Then when we’ve used our RB in the Pass we’re tearing it up at ~10 yards per.

What’s the solution for an over aggressive 6 man pass rush??

Go 12 Personnel and leak out 2 short options at either RB/TE and tell whoever doesn’t pick up the blitz to be prepared to turn at 2 yards with a ball in their face mask literally.

So I watched each play Melton had been targeted across the MN and NO
He had 5 targets 3 receptions. Only 1 target more than 20+. Melton ran an end around fake but went deep down the sideline for a 30 yard throw. Issue was it was at MN closing out the 1st half under 2 minutes and he got doubled by a CB underneath and Safety over Top. The ball was overthrown but there was zero chance of catching it. I think being able to beat a guy deep needs to come on traditional lining up in Man coverage and hitting a go route. I don’t see where that was tried across the last two contests.

If Melton is returning Kicks he’s fast. He ran a 4.34 40 which beats MVS 4.37, so he’s not any slower than MVS if it’s by a trivial amount in the long pass. Melton had a 9.85 RAS on the 40 yard. I doubt he cant run a Go Route he’s likely best suited to replace Watson. I did notice he grabbed a wonderful contested catch at MN for 13 yards. He’s got good hands.

I guess I don’t blame them, but the Bears’ wild celebration was such a sad little brother moment for them. You just capped off a 5-12 season that began with such high expectations. I’d be re-examining the state of my franchise if that win was so meaningful to me.
Just wow. We hadn't beat y'all in lambeau in about a decade. We hadn't won a game versus you guys in six years.
If any team and fan base needed a win against their arch-rival it was us!!! If you think the players celebrated too much, you should've seen me at my house. My dogs still won't come near me lol.

So yeah.....our season sucked and fell apart so hard core but it is what it is and at least we got a W to end this awful year.
Next year gonna be a whole lotta fun.

Listen. While I can appreciate breaking the longest intra divisional losing streak ever. It’s in a Week 18 game where GB rested its Starters. Just starts, Our 2 best players played 1 full quarter and less than one 3 minute possession to open Qtr2. That doesn’t touch we played Wooden and Olodapo who are rotational players or really ST players. There were literally 4-5 starters out on BOTH Offense and Defense that barely played or were out.. Even with a ST TD (which had missed flags for blocking in the back and clear holding arm bar on film) the game really should’ve still been a GB Win. Chicago just beat a Medley of bench warmers with their Starters and needed help from everyone else to do it. It beats losing to a mixture of 1st n 2nd stringers for sure. Yawn

Let me know when you get back to this level of Sweetness!

Notice how formidable the RB can be in all phases. I think it’s a big mistake to underutilize your best players. No telling how much has been left on the field ignoring the RB.
That's all good and well old-school but don't tell me on that last drive. You guys weren't trying to stop Caleb.

Yes, we heard all that about how awesome this year was going to be 8 months ago, about how things would be different, about how Caleb was walking into the “best situation a #1 pick has ever walked into!” You had two top 10 picks this year, where did it get you? Yes, we’ve heard it all before, many times, and I’m sure will hear much more of it before next season.

Seriously, you come onto a Packer fan forum as a Bears fan the day after a really tough division loss and talk all this, what did you expect to get for replies? I’d expect the same if I was doing the same on a Bears board.

I’m not going to assume that anyone who shows this defensive alignment on 3rd and 15 near FG range is trying to stop anybody.
