The Pack won Super Bowl 45 bringing the Green Bay Packers their 13th World Championship.

Optimism was at an all-time high for the establishment of a dynasty, similar to the Patriots. With young talent abound and an elite QB at the top of his game the sky was the limit.

Then Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy.............

I said at the time that it was a blessing and a curse. A team that barely made the playoffs... due to a missed chip shot field goal... gets hot and runs the table. A Super Bowl is a Super Bowl and ya gotta relish it at the moment. The result was we get saddled with a crappy GM and a mediocre coach for way too long as they underachieve their way to the bottom. First The Zombie got canned.... then McCarthy (aka Lumpy).... both way too late. Still paying for Ted Thompson’s horrible drafts, question is will Gute be able to overcome them before Rodgers is totally washed up.

You keep bringing that up but it's simply not true. Which field goal are you talking about???

only takes 1 post about a happy time in GB to bring out those that wish to be miserable and have zero appreciation for anything. Gotta love the internet.

Isn't that something? Had the Pack hit the jackpot this year, the post would have been the same.

That post could have been about Holmgren and Wolf too, based on the content.

Guess GB is a cursed franchise where GM's and Head Coaches are concerned.

Totally random question here since reading the history of the prohibition era, Did Maine ever repeal the dry law ? or is it just one of those laws that died a death naturally ?

Remove Mike McCarthy's name from your issue. It was ALL Ted. It wasn't Mike's idea to gut the Defense and go all in on Offense.

From the link it looks like all of Maine is wet. I live in Arkansas and about half the state is dry. I live in a dry county and the nearest liquor store is 20.8 miles away.:) The predominant christian denomination is Baptist and their "official" position is anti-alcohol.

Why do you take two Baptists with you to go fishing? If you only take one he will drink all your beer.

Thanks bud. I`m fascinated by the prohibition era and Mr Capone in particular. A fascinating and complex character. He once sent a woman who was blinded by flying glass after an attack on one of his speakeasy joints to Switzerland and paid all her expenses to save her sight, and yet is known to have beat TWO prostitutes to death with a baseball bat, one for giving him syphallis.

I do agree that the complaining about head coaches here gets overblown, and hell already people get on LaFleur's case about being out coached in the NFCCG, which sure maybe he was, but usually rookie HCs don't even get there let alone in a rebuild year.

Perhaps the only curse of 2010 was that unfortunately it would be the last time Capers would field a top 10 defense. Something that unfortunately haunted our team in several future playoff games.

Well ... Actually maybe one more being that Slocum got his job saved because of it. A problem that may have been overlooked at the time but did come back to bite us later in the 2014 NFCCG.

I think it's just mostly that loss that brings out the rag birds from here. I mean, sure maybe a few would still say the same ridiculous lines even had the Pack gone on and won the SB that year. But it was that game in particular that got us to today with Rodgers still only having one SB win and now 10 years since that 2010 season.

I don't know but I can tell you that it takes 23 pancakes to cover a doghouse. I know this because ice cream doesn't have bones.

So, here's a picture of a bunny with a waffle on his head.

It was Mike's stale playbook and playcalls. If he spent more time keeping his system up to date instead of missing meetings for massages we may have more titles (that's mostly a joke). He also held onto Capers for way too long. Mike shares equal blame, sorry.
