The Packers 5 loses have come against 3 teams. The combined record of those 3 teams, 41-7.

How fun would it be to beat all 3 to get to a Super Bowl?
Highly doubtful. :( GB has proven that they're, at best, the 4th best team in the NFC this year. Personnel & coaching aren't up to the level of MN, Philly & Detroit, unfortunately.

Hopefully in 2025 Detroit & Philly will lose a few studs as cap casualties, & the Vikes will come back to earth where they rightfully belong.

At this point I don’t care about this year, just give me three days, one with each where we win. Any given Sunday.

One interesting factor is that the Rams ARE expected to rest their starters and Jimmy G will apparently be starting at QB.

Now the Rams have clinched the NFC West. But they could still be the #4 seed, which means potentially the difference between playing the 6 seed (Packers or Commanders) or the 5 seed (Loser of Vikings-Lions). So it's interesting that they are seemingly valuing player rest ahead of possibly having to play one of Detroit/Minnesota...

But, possible implications for us too... as above, if the Commanders AND Rams lose and us and the Bucs win, then we'd play the Bucs for our opener. So, a few different things to keep an eye on. In either case I'd certainly rather play Tampa or LA than Philly.
Tampa and LA will have home games. The Rams know they have beaten the Vikings and took the Lions to OT. But you would think they would want #3 seed.

Just read this and it blew my mind
The last time the Packers won a Superbowl in 2010 - they're week one opponent was the Eagles.
There bye was in week 10.
They lost to the lions in week 14.
They finished the regular season at home against the bears.
This season the Packers played the Eagles in week 1.

There bye was in week 10.
They lost to the lions in week 14.
They will finish up the regular season this week at home against the bears.
Would be cool as hell if the season ended the same way as 2010.

Is this is the week we become Cowboys fans (I think I just threw up a little in my mouth)? If they beat Washington and we beat the Bears do we get the #6 seed?
:roflmao:

Good post and yes, we all want to be Cowboys this weekend!

That is why my confidence has been lowered. This team has not shown me the consistency to play 3 quality games in a row vs. top competition. They are definitely capable of putting it all together on any given Sunday. I just fear 3 in a row may be a tough nut to crack.

I have been counting on the 14 year rule all year.

Should be some measure of scoreboard watching by MLF. Cowboys/Commanders game is like Washington +21 at the half or 3rd, pull guys.

And the 2010 team was SO banged up. But we had experience and our GM found some good roster fillers. We caught a break that season because the NFC did not have any really super teams. Eagles rode with Michael Vick that season after we knocked out their QB in Week 1. They were kind of one dimensional. The Falcons had a good offense but had little of a pass rush. The Bears had the D but Cutler was up and down and got hurt in our game. The Steelers got to the SB because Rex after 2 losses figured out how to stop the Pats. Everything had to fall into place.
I will say this. We played those 3 playoff teams during the season and had learned a lot.

Yeah, they could beat the Eagles, just because "any given Sunday". Beating the Eagles and then the Lions or Vikings? Much less likely to happen, but still theoretically possible. Beating all 3 teams, when they couldn't win even once in 5 chances during the regular season? That would take some utter insanity, like maybe getting 5 turnovers in a game, which sadly as we know doesn't guarantee a win.

With Hurts and Barkley we have a lot to stop. Harder than Stafford and Cupp? Probably. Or Mayfield and Evans?

I guess to me you either go all in or not at all. To what end are you playing your starters for on the limited basis you suggest? To win, to give them momentum? Josh Jacobs has had less than 15 carries in 4 games, so that isn't really protecting him by pulling him after 15 carries.

For me, this is like an exhibition game, that starters are already rust free for. Starters that could get hurt 1-20 plays in. Yes, you decrease the chances by reducing their snaps, but you totally eliminate the chance of injury, if they don't play at all.
We’ll see. Philly won’t play certain starters because it’s meaningless. You yourself said gaining a 6th seed for us is meaningful and I actually agreed.

As far as your question of how does my idea of limiting players by limiting snaps help on the injury front?
We do this every preseason with presumed Starters.

Also you forget that by limiting snaps I said it was beneficial to keep players fresh. I think it would be extremely unwise to Run Jacobs 30+ times against Chicago (your “go all in” and expect Josh to possibly play the following Saturday and get 30+ more carries. For me common sense is we limit Jacobs’ snap count.

As far as holding out our starters. Did you think Dan Campbell’s choice of playing his starters was a bad choice? He can’t better his position in seeding. We can

Lastly. Even if we couldn’t better our seeding (which we still can). Did you like what you saw from the Packer Offense last weekend? That was actually hard to watch for me and taking the week off is not a good method of fixing that dull performance. We are NOT some fine tuned unit on Offense.

True. I think people get too tied up in regular season. As long as teams are at playoff level area, it’s as much about the attitude and energy. I will offer this much. IF THIS 2024 Packers team brings an above average level of energy and they are convicted that they can Win .+ we go out an execute at a higher level than normal? I think we can beat anyone we face on Wildcard. Vice versa holds true.
I could care less who we play in the Divisional we haven’t even proved we belong.
