About that Vikqueens' record.
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/11/the-minnesota-vikings-are-the-most-overrated-team-in-the-nfl. The ball has certainly bounced their way this season; who they've played, where, when and how.
Their last 3 games could just as easily have turned into losses but for their opponent's ability to self-destruct. Last Sunday in Oakland the Raiders, trailing by 9, had a first and ten on the Vikes' 11 yd.line with over two minutes remaining. They didn't need to try forcing the pass that was intercepted in the end zone and could have closed up to a 2 pt deficit with time remaining for a winning field goal.
Instead, on the first play after the turnover, their defense got caught out of position on Adrian Peterson's 80 yd td burst. Earlier in the game they allowed a 93 yd kickoff return after moving ahead 14-13.

The previous week against St.Louis the Rams inexplicably opted to try for a two point conversion after a first quarter td brought them within 10-6. They didn't make it. Later in the game their kicker, who had made a 61 yd fg, missed a 48 yarder that would have given the Rams a fourth quarter lead. With those two turns the Rams left four points on the field in a game they lost by 3 in OT.

Chicago had them down 20-13 with 2 minutes remaining but their safety whiffed on an open field tackle attempt on rookie wr Stefon Diggs, who turned the play into a 40 YAC td. to tie it. The Bears in the last seconds gave up a 35 yd. completion to one time Packers prospect Charles Johnson to set up the winning Minnesota field goal as time expired.

By rough calculation the Vikings are about 6 plays from being 4-5 by now. But give them credit. They have made some of those plays happen and certainly have been able to capitalize on opportunity when it has come their way. Unlike the Packers who have seen chances to win the last two weeks at the end of the game and haven't closed the deal.

Bill Parcells has famously said you are what your record says you are. However, before the Packers' Championship Game against the Giants in 1961 Vince Lombardi told a confidante he was confident his club would kill the Giants, "unless that ball bounces funny tomorrow." It didn't and the Packers won 37-0. But Vince did seem to suggest that sometimes chance or luck can intrude to turn a game or a season into a different result.

So far under Mike Zimmer the Vikings have not won a game against a team with a winning record, last season or this. The unfortunate thing for the Packers this Sunday is that they are playing the kind of game that the Vikings have been winning this season.
