At least we are actually drafting good players the more I think about Jackson was a absolute steal in the second round.. Alexander Jackson and a 1st next year looking good I’d like them to get a receiver tho I’d like Bryant but he is to much so I would like to see them sign Eric Decker and see how everything else plays out

You know these guys are good players? We hope they are but im pretty skeptical beyond Alexander.

I am not incredibly against Ryan. But I dont believe he is a guy we are giving another contract to and we need more athleticism across the board at lb.
Ryan is in his contract year. It's a long way to 2019 free agency to guess at his future disposition. You could do a whole lot worse for a rotational ILB. Ryan is not a slow player; he ran 4.65 at his Combine. He might turn out to be one of those guys who benefits from a more coherent defensive scheme.

You can hope for Pro Bowl players from every draft pick, but if you expect it, you are going to be very disappointed.

Ryan is head and shoulders above some of the crap we hung on to for far too long at ILB. Ryan is a hard nosed, smart, grind it out guy, I don't see drafting Burks as a threat to Ryan not being offered next year.

Yeah I watched it. In his defense it was a September game and they switched him to ILB in 2017 so he had a max of a few games there. I'm more optimistic than I was at first. It'll take him a year or two.

Surely. Hawk in his later days but especially the clueless Nate Palmer, to name two. Joe Thomas? I never got that at all. The zone defense concept that sooner or later you have to cover somebody was something he struggled to grasp. Drop 10 or 15 and just stand there doesn't do it for me.

I think some here would be suprised what a team might offer Ryan as a sideline-to-sideline run defender to be paired with a speedy hybrid guy. The problem is that Ryan and Martinez are a little redundant.

raw talent. I had him on amish's mock draft going 5th round but I didnt think we'll pick him so i took him out. packers did a private workout with Burks. But in round 3,, thats alittle rich for my blood. Shouldve stayed in 4th and pick up griffin or a WR,

Or Joe Thomas. A guy that was half way between not being able to defend against the run and half between lost at pass coverage. I would probably mix up OLB's with ILB's if I tried to list them all, but for quite a few years, the Packers really did not value the ILB position enough.

If St. Brown continues to slip, he’d be a good one.
EQ has been my wanted pick ever since I started looking into the draft. Something about the guy I really like. When Kizer was his QB, he was really good, but when Kizer left, his production and the Notre Dame offense dropped. He might be a 1-2 year project, but love his size.

Joe Thomas was your erstwhile dime coverage backer. That's a difficult concept to grasp, I know. I'm not sure what Brad Jones was supposed to be, but PFF graded him something like #8 at his position one year, a level of play not evident to me. The Packers gave him a decent contract after that and the rest is history.

Nearly all wide receivers, even top picks, are 1-2 year projects.

I like Burks but not for a 3rd Rounder. The best value would have been Ronnie Harrison, but half of you would have blasted BG for going that route but Day 1 he's better than Jones, Brice, and depending on which Haha showed up him too.

But beyond Harrison we could have gone for a WR in Cain, Quinn, Hamilton or my favorite St. Brown, which I don't see us getting now that we're so far down in the 4th.

But if I was in the GM's chair and I'm making a pick at this position, I'm going Dorance Armstrong Jr, Genard Avery, or Josh Sweat.
