Man, I miss Aaron Jones. Wish he was with us still.

You'll be in our hearts, Jones....but I pray you don't be in the scoreboard come weekend!

Completely understood us walking from him and him also walking elsewhere.

Doesn’t change though he is a freaking grade A human being and arguably one of the best dudes to ever where the G.

For myself, there is an internal honor roll of Elite Packer teammates that will go down as the best to wear Green n Gold. I remember drafting Aaron Jones. I remember him coming out and scoring that 1st TD. In limited time he was just noticeably a notch better than Jamaal. Except if I recall he got hurt and missed some time early on in too lazy to look. Once healthy, there was never a question who our RB1 was.
Not long after that, there were several fans from other teams debating Dalvin Cook. They were actually very similar except 1 key thing. #33 secured the ball markedly better.

Great Athlete Great teammate great person

I hope we beat them 35-7 and he scores with a minute left and people chant his name. Other than that I hope we bust their butts!

I have argued there should be zero booing of #33 and during game play no cheering.....BUT......I'd take a garbage time score by him with a sure GB win ending with a leap and everyone chanting his name fully acceptable and honestly I am not ashamed to say I'd likely have some moisture forming in my eyes.

Easily my favorite Packer, still pissed they let him walk; love Jacobs, he’s a stud, but they’re paying him almost twice as much as what the Vikes are paying Jones. I understand it’s about age/money but honestly believed Aaron was the second best/most important running back in the league last year behind McCaffrey. Will always be a fan of his and although I hope he has a nice game this Sunday I hope he doesn’t run/catch all over us……

FTR, Green Bay offered Jones a pay cut that would have paid him essentially the same. His agent said no or give us time, Gute said we don't have time because they have to make the business decision asap...time expired they signed Jacobs and had to pull the offer to ensure we had a back of high level on roster.

It’s a tough call. I think Jones is the better “all around” RB. That said Jacobs is probably deemed more reliable going forward. So if it were a 1-2 season business decision I would’ve kept #33. However it’s not. This is more likely a 3-4 year move going with Jacobs. If Jones was 27 years old I think they would’ve found a way to retain him with a multi year deal and spreading out the Cap a little better. However Jones is on the threshold of where many RB’s start to decline in productivity either injury or age or other.

So many players over the years have failed to meet expectations. Jones was a guy who exceeded them.

That was a great read for sure. And I love Jones, was honestly pretty shocked when we let him go but I kind of get it too. He's the "wrong" age to be extending as a running back, and has often had some injury issues from time to time which you don't expect to get better with age. It's a hard decision but I get the business of it.

My gut says that AJ is the bigger "home run threat" but that Jacobs is probably a little more reliable/consistent. Even just looking at the early going, Jacobs hasn't been AMAZING, but I also very much doubt we'd have been able to run Jones as hard and heavy as we've done Jacobs the past few weeks. Not sure Jones has that kind of durability at this point. But still...on and off the field he'll be missed for sure.

Yeah, one of the major advantages with Jacobs is that he's younger.
And this past week, they used him a lot as a decoy, after his performance in week two.
