Doesn't look like anybody had the Commanders upset. Kudos to DoUrant for coming close, sorta, 4 point win for the Lions. We all had the Lions winning, and commonly by two or more IDs.

What a perfect storm for Washington. Three pics of Goff, one for six, flawless execution by Daniels, and a Detroit D that was worse than most expected. Gotta wonder if the Lions were looking ahead a bit. I mean we always say this when there's an uneven matchup on paper and the fave loses. This game wasn't ever close.

For a rookie, the NFL doesn't seem to be too big for Daniels. He plays with a lot of poise. Who sez it takes an NFL QB 3-5 years to reach peak? Don't tell that to Daniels, or Burrows, or Jackson, or Allen. You listening Love? (OK, that's me being pissed off.)

If anyone wonders how much of a difference ownership makes in a professional sports organization, how about them Commanders? They were a joke until they got people in place who changed the culture and made them a destination place for players. The were 8-8 in 2022, 4-13 in 2023, and 12-5 in 2024. All because of the culture change, and better leadership. Players want to play there, not escape.

Dan Snyder was a cancer on that organization, and it shows.

Our contest tightened up in this weekend's Divisional Round. Some that did well in the wildcard week floundered. There were no bingos, but Voyageur did manage a 3-1, plus a points match for the week high 125 points. Six players missed out on getting their picks in this week. They are listed as NP (No Picks). As you can see below the top three are close together.

2 more likely cold weather games this weekend. Turnovers and running the ball. The Commanders play the Eagles twice a year. They are not as intimidated as other opponents. Both teams should have a good book on the other.
Bills beat the Chiefs in the regular season. But to outfox Andy Reid is very difficult. The Chiefs may be the best coached team in football across all 3 phases. Home field helps.

Never been done. He looks fantastic and the Commander fans have to be very excited going forward. Daniel's got lucky though, that the Bears passed on him.

Ain't that the truth. Jayden Daniels is in a good place. He would have wilted on the vine the same way Caleb Williams did this year.

Daniels was in the right place at the right time, and he has a lot of talent and a knack for playing at this level. Good for him. I hope he becomes the first rookie QB to win a SB.

Kinda funny when it seems like most games are played inside to have both conference championships outside. That's the NFL - from heat exhaustion in August/September to frostbite in January. Love it.

So can Buffalo make it two in a row this season over the chiefs? Hope so. And the Commanders/Eagles game will be interesting, and ironic. I was one of the people who thought the NFC would be represented by the Lions or, gulp, queens. As usual, first thought wrong.

And as much as I'd like to see Buffalo get a Lombardi, I gotta get behind a rookie QB winning it all.

Every game Daniels surprises me more. This guy was made for the system he's in with the Commanders, and the coaching staff is smart enough to use his talents to win games. They aren't purists who try to change what the kid is, they use what he's best at to move the team down the field.

Considering the Commanders were 4-13 last year, and 12-5 this year, and how they've done in the playoffs, I seriously believe Daniels is the MVP for the NFC hands down. His impact is immense. It's hard to bet against him taking his team all the way to a Lombardi Trophy to be honest. But Philadelphia is no slouch. They're in it to win it.

KC and Buffalo. It would be nice to see Buffalo break their curse. KC has had a great run. It's enough. I don't put any store in the game between them during the season. It's a new game out there this coming weekend.

I haven't decided who I'm gonna pick yet but to be honest, these are both tough choices no matter what the spread is.

Yeah and they lost to a 4-12 team on an 11-game losing streak. Similar results to Rodgers and the Jets. Daniels was lucky to be drafted into a system that would let him be successful. The Bears have had a lousy FO and ownership for many years now. The players and the fans deserve better.

No doubt about it, Caleb has some skills. Getting a new coach and front office making decisions will help. Then they need to do some signing of mid-range free agents and have a healthy draft and maybe make a trade or two. In a couple of years, they could be a contender.

But, above all, they need a head coach and assistants who understand how to build an offense around the skills that Williams has, not come in with an offense that he ends up like a fish out of water.
