It was shocking to me that the clock kept ticking, and that time was not called with 32 seconds left. Eberflus doesn't call time and Williams looked out of sorts spending too much time lining up the offence on the field. Finally the ball was snapped with around six ticks left on the clock and the game ended with the long pass hitting the turf. All teams practice these situations every week, don't they? Shameful.

Now do you guys understand and believe me that this guy is the absolute worst situational football coach that has ever been in the NFL and seriously blind Chimpanzee could do a better job coaching the team than this guy!!!!!
Just imagine what our team can be with this talent level(a top 5 pick and two picks between 33-40) and an actual coach who is not a detriment to the team!!!!

We are going to be a very, very very dangerous group of men next year.

This did display that The Lions are not unbeatable. That should’ve been either OT or a TD as time expired. Only Chicago would have both the QB + Coach not aware of the Clock. Inexcusable. Both should be embarrassed. They went around smiling and shaking hands like it was totally normal. The Bears literally just played the perfect game to beat Detroit and then surrendered the entire game in the last :30 sec
The Lions were flat when we played them last Thanksgiving. Hope they repeat it next week.

If the Packers are as sharp as they are so far tonight, then they might have a chance. I screwed up by picking a Miami win for tonight.:(
On a 4 day week I expect issues on both teams. The Packers did not have to travel and they appeared as if they were continuing where they left off Sunday. Now they have a 7 day window just like Detroit.

We did it last year and the year before in Detoilet. This is laughable.
We are fast approaching Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy's 12 on the last hole of the Masters.
This effin guy is a deer stuck in the headlights of an oncoming diesel Mack Truck!!!!! It's really a statistical anomaly that this guy can lose these games like this. I'm completely baffled.
What I thought was just odd. Immediately after the finish everyone was just walking around hugging as if that wasn’t just the biggest screw up in 2024. I’m not even a Bears fan and I was a little ticked off at that ending. It was discouraging. Imo. You guys had a 80% chance of going into OT and a 40% chance of putting the Lions away as the clock expired with 6 points. Had it went OT I’d put the odds of a Bears Victory at 55%. The second half momentum clearly favored Chicago.

See I can live with a blocked FG, that can happen even to good teams. The Hail Mary was excusable but frustrating. This? This was worthy of an immediate Firing and if I did that myself? I’d resign

No doubt about it, the Bears need someone else running the show on the sidelines. There's some talent on the Bears, and they may well have one of the best QBs in the league. But, I do question whether anyone who is presently on the coaching staff will be around next year if they fire the HC. A new HC is going to want to bring in their own personnel, not someone who has been anointed by the GM as a guy who's untouchable. That would undermine his entire coaching staff.

They do need some help on the field as well, and they should have the draft capital and money for free agents that should help a great deal. But, with a new system, expect some hiccups along the way. It happens, and some of the Bears players haven't seen any continuity in how the team is coached over their entire time with the team.

One of the key elements they need to address is how well they protect Williams from injury. Right now, he's being treated like a pinata out there by defenses because the offensive line is porous, and the play calling horrible.

Next year? I'd think a 9 win season would make everyone in Bears country avoid going into hibernation by Thanksgiving.

I feel for ya man. Seriously. I do. The best thing to do is have guppy memory. I know how that works. I lived through the Packer 70s & 80s.

You're right on the money, my guy.
Just think about our misery.....this has only been a one month example of what's been a 30 year sentence!!!!!
We're almost to the breaking point...... seriously.

We're even incompetent at firing people though they let the guy come out and give his 9 AM press conference and it's like why would you even let the guy do that and then fire him as soon as he's done just a complete and utter shiite show.
Yes, it is rather incompetent and unprofessional.

Just Bears bein' Bears.

It's not just incompetent and unprofesssional, it's downright sadistic. Why on Earth would they make that poor bastard go out and face the media (publicly defend himself and assure the press that he's sure his job is safe), and then two hours later announce that he's been fired? That's just cruel - they humiliated the man for no reason at all.

One of two things got cluster****ed here - either they knew they were going to fire him and they let him go out and make an *** of himself on his way out the door, or they still hadn't made up their minds until the middle of the next day. Either way, they look like a clown show.

I was telling you months ago that the real problem with that circus is that idiot GM and the ownership team that hired him, but you ridiculed that and swore that Poles is a a genius who's going to turn the whole franchise around. I predicted what was probably going to happen, and so far I'm 100% right on everything I said would probably happen (except that I thought it was likely Eberfluis would last the whole season). Your entire management structure is toxic and incompetent at every level.

You've gone from "Super Bowl or bust" to "well, we'll just hire a better coach next year and everything will be spectacular." Who do you think is going to want to coach that disaster next year? There will probably be as many as 7 or 8 openings in January, and I'm not sure how many of the top candidates will be interested in a dumpster fire like Chicago.

I sure wouldn't count on Ben Johnson; he's made it clear that he values organizational stability very highly, so it's very unlikely he'd want to be the next coach ground up and spit out all over the floor by Poles and the ownership. Especially after the way they humiliated Eberfluis.

Best young QB on rookie contract. Complete control over offense and direction that it takes(player acquisition and such) and a ready made defense that with some tweaks can be top ten.
Honestly... we could go on a run here. Make no mistake....Da Bears got much.....much better today.

Absolutely right. To change the culture, it has to start with cleaning out the entire front office, and changing the culture, by having the Halas connection stay away from all of it, and have no opinion about anything dealing with the operations.

Unfortunately, that won't happen.

About 20 years ago, in the Twin Cities, I was becoming dissatisfied with my workplace. I called up the owner of our biggest competitor, and set up a Sunday brunch meeting to discuss options.

It was a pleasant meeting, very amicable, but in the end we couldn't really come to terms so I decided to stay at my position. As we were saying goodbye, Steve (the owner of the other company), wished me well and told me to keep in touch in case things changed. I said something to the effect that I hoped it did work out downthe road, because I thought their company had an excellent future.

Steve smiled, almost a little smugly, and said, "Oh, I'm sure we do. We are very, very fortunate that Gary is our biggest competitor in the Twin Cities market."

We are very, very fortunate to be in the same division as the Bears. I think we will continue to benefit from this for some time to come.
