I don't know the whole rights and what not to the CFL, but if the NFL wanted to go international, they should've tried putting a Canadian team first. We are pretty close to them, we already have other sports who have teams in Canada. I think Canada would embrace a NFL Team as well. Just my thought

Bills played in Toronto for a few years. But attendance became an issue, and the Bills were payed to play there, when attendance lacked it became hard for sponsors to pay the team to play there. CFL isnt as popular as in Canada as the NFL is in the US. Last year I was in Edmonton and I went to a sports bar to watch Packers vs Patriots and on this day CFL version of the superbowl was playing. I was the only watching the NFL game and only a handful where there to watch their version of the superbowl. Hockey dominates Canada. But I still think it would have been better to focus on generating interest in Canada rather than the other side of the planet. Perhaps if Canadians had a team of their own, it could generate interest. NFL has experimented with games abroad for a while and even had interleague games against CFL, but CFL is sad, they even lost to the Brooklyn Dodgers (Brooklyn had a football team back in the days) They did draw a large crowd of over 100K attendance in Mexico city, so there is hope for those that want an internstional series.

Yeah Mexico City should get a couple games a year as the draw is there.

I don't get the anger towards the nfl for wanting to expand into Europe. It means more football of my tv or tablet. Soccer fans don't get mad when Manchester comes here and plays. Idk maybe some do.

You can take a couple exhibition games Europe, cause no one else wants them.

Don't have team in LA for years but these greedy idiots are playing games in London WOW !

Are we talking about the greedy billionaires owning (all but one) organizations or the greedy millionaires being paid with those profits?

those football(not soccer:D) games that are played in the U.S. are always as pre-season games so aren't really competitive, unlike the NFL games played in London, which do count at the end of the season. i have no interest in a london/UK team, as i'm already a packers fan. the one thing i would do is to move one of the games from London to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. the expense in travel/accomodation etc... is the only thing that has stopped me from attending a game so far, though i would make the effort if the Pack came over

I don't think the NFL has the right to force teams to give up a home game when the stadiums are paid for by Taxpayers its all Greed on the part of the NFL if Fans went to court the have a good case !

I'd have to see the documents involved with public funding. If it says "we're only going to pay for this if you play all your home games here", I'm on board. If, however, it's the standard (implied) wording of "I get you to build me a new stadium and you get to keep my team here (for a while, at least)", then it's buyer/builder beware.

I guess the contract you sign a lease would have to say what's aloud as far as how many home games need to be played each season !

Will you stop peeing on my barbeque ! You'll be telling me Santa Claus doesn't exist next.

Oh, he does exist! But you have to wonder about a fat guy who shows up at your house in red jammies, with a red nose, smoking "something", and calling out for HOs.

An interesting point to consider is that the Rams' lease with the Edward Jones Dome doesn't allow them to play a home game in London. With the NFL announcing they will host an NFC East team at Wembley Stadium next season and for sure knowing about this issue with their lease it's highly likely they will move to Los Angeles before the start of the 2016 season.

American football: brief periods of action interrupted by long periods of inaction.
European football: long periods of boredom ending with a riot.
Which is why fans of either will never accept the other. Actually I'm losing interest in our game due to the long periods of inaction.

I hear ya Blood, all the commercials are making NFL football a chore to watch and sitting in a stadium on a cold December day enduring TV timeouts is enough to turn a person off to paying $90.00 a ticket for the privilege.

Haven't watched a game live in a long time. DVR it, then zip through the snooze periods as with any other show.

I'm on NFL Gamepass, which offers a condensed game (just the action), within a couple of hours of the game finishing. I don't mind settling down for 2 games on a Sunday though, it gives my Mrs a chance to catch up on her TV in another room and I can always find other things to do in the commercial breaks.

For us who live in Europe, some NFL action nearby is great, even if it isn't the team we support who is playing. Flying to London from most of Europe isn't very expensive. But I really hope the Packers never come here though, espessially if it's a home game.
