The "discussion" the last 2 pages is pretty needless!

But I guess the Bayern-envy is pretty strong in every football forum and every fan of the red bavarians has to defend himself against these, in most cases, false accusations.

On topic:

Borussia Dortmund is giving Bayern a good fight and Bayerns remaining schedule is not that easy, especially looking at their last games:
Away vs Stuttgart
at home vs Schalke 04
away vs Hertha Berlin
at home against Borussia Moenchengladbach
away vs Ingolstadt
at home vs Hannover 96

At the bottom of the table Hannover is pretty much down and out. Augsburg, Bremen, Frankfurt, Hoffenheim, Darmstadt in the greatest danger of being relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. This saturday Werder hosts Augsburg, Frankfurt plays Hoffenheim and with a win against Darmstadt Hamburg could pretty much plan for the next season. And Stuttgart will give it all against Bayern to get some unexpected points of them, while Bayern has to do their very best to maintain the 5 points lead over Dortmund but at the same time, rest some players for the Benfica game next wednesday. Not an easy task, especially as the "South-Derby" is always pretty heated.
Yes, lets get back on topic. As it's boring on the top (who should stop Bayern?) of the table the dog fight against relegation is thrilling, especially for me although I don't need this kind of excitement. But as you wrote, HSV has a chance to be out of any trouble in case we beat Darmstadt next Saturday. Fans are looking forward to this game and it's already sold out.
Besides the Bayern game VfB has a real tough schedule, they could be back in the relegation race soon. But my prediction is Augsburg or Darmstadt to finish on 17 and Hoffenheim or Brähmen on 16. However, as long as its not us I'm fine with it.
In case Red Bull will be promoted, and thats quite likely, I think the times that Bayern are dominating the league might be over. Not immediately after promotion but within a couple years as money doesn't seem to be an issue for them.
Do I like this? Definitely not, to me Red Bull is the ugly face of modern football but thats a different discussion.

There is no such thing as Bayern envy, so let's get that out of the way. Nessie doesn't want or wish to be a Bayern fan. I don't want or wish to be a Bayern fan. Sandolf doesn't want or wish to be a Bayern fan... despite the fact they have the money to buy all the players no other Bundesliga team can buy. We'd rather appreciate our teams cultures. To identify yourself with a team requires more than just rooting for the best team just because they are on tv every week. The standard norm is if someone makes even a slightly negative comment about Bayern, you get immediate revoke with excuses and rudeness and the non-existent Bayern envy response. If we must talk about something that MUST stop, this is one of them.

This is not an attack on anyone, this is just a fair response to clear the air. I will screenshot my response.

Good teams attract many fans, as well as many haters. This is true for every sport and sports is always very biased but thats also the beauty of it. So lets just get it over with for now and start it again when Bayern gets lucky the next time. :D

I have to say for me as a Bayern supporter I really think that Dortmund can stop Bayern, for me it is still thrilling to watch :)

Regarding Rasenball Leipzig it is no sure bet they will be promoted to the 1st Bundesliga. Currently they are tied for 2nd with 59 points behind Freiburg also 59, 3rd is Nuremberg with 56 and a better goal differntial +25 to +20. As the 3rd has to play 2 games against the 16th from the 1st division.

I don't see RB Leipzig giving Bayern and BVB a tough race for the championship in a few years time. Money isn't everything as you can see with the english teams, but I might be very wrong.

Hmmmm, I wonder if I've been a "bandwagoner" myself ? :cautious::D
When I was a little boy Hamburg was a big number in German football and I was attracted by stars like Kaltz, Hrubesch or Magath. And this although I was born and grown up in deepest Eintracht Frankfurt territory !
But seriously, it's exactly as you say - stars and success attracts people and especially children. When Bayern is playing here in Hamburg the stadium is full of children that are Bayern Munich fans. Think it's time to change this, we need a championship or a title soon. And I certainly don't mean the relegation spot triple  ;)

However - I'm still sticking with Nick Hornby and his saying in Fever Pitch that you don't just pick your team, it just happens. You can't do anything against it and usually got caught for the rest of your life ;)
One final thought: Fanship isn't and shouldn't be an ideology let's dont forget this when discussing here. We can be of different opinions but please don't let us getting personal.

Regarding Red Bull - we will see how long it takes them to be in the race for a championship but I'm pretty sure, and different from Hoppenheim, they will become a contender.
The problem is - in case one day Herr Mateschitz or perhaps one of his successors do not want to spend all their marketing money on football teams anymore it will be over immediately. To me nothing but a marketing project but football will also survive this and I have some understanding for fans around Leipzig to go there as they are desperate for top flight football in this part of Germany.
If I had a wish I'd like to see RB and Bremen playing against each other for the final Bundesliga spot. Yes, it's to choose between the devil and the deep blue sea but it might be two entertaining games and in case Bremen will be relegated I certainly will open a very special bottle of beer or whisky to celebrate this. :D

Dortmund really look good right now. They are most definitely still in it.

Do you really want Werder Bremen to be relegated? You will miss these moments for sure

Hehe, HSV truly was the cryptonite for Dortmund the last few years :)

As for Mateschitz losing interest in the club someday, I think that once Leipzig establishes themselve as a solid team in the Bundesliga with a few appearances in the Europa League or maybe even Champions League. They will attract more and more sponsors, more fans, more tv-money. I guess they would be able to run the business without the help of Mateschitz.

Well my overly bier saturated Chargers friend. Did you forget why we started posting here in the first place? What does it have to do with fair? Despite any protestations to the contrary, it just has to do with numbers. The more people who agree, (and I'm counting nessie's distribution of "likes" as a vote), the more correct they are. A moderator's blessing counts for ten on the ballot of popular opinion.

Forget about it. Just accept that it is NOT fair. Barring that we'll have to try Chiefs Planet on for size. :roflmao::roflmao::roflmao:

I understand that there is brilliant MLS history in KC. :D

I dont really care about the popularity thing, im cool with anyone with a differing opinion as long as its not personal. Any of us can stray into that from time to time because we are human. The telling of ignoring is somewhat lame i must agree, if someone bothers me i just dont reply i don't make an issue of it. My opinion.

Don't bother with the Chiefs or the 4OWhiners its nice and plesant here in comparison. :)

The Chiefs were sort of the Detroit Lions of our division. When I posted over there their team was pretty bad. You don't get much crap from fans of 4 win teams.

Is there a reason why they use Russian language? (just above "Send Message"):D

That was me pretending to be a spy from another power on my custom title. The equivalent of your Cheesehead or my Man City insprired Blue Moon Rising moniker here.

ps... power may be an inappropriate term in describing the San Diego Chargers, but one must remember those were other times. They do seem a far off as the Cold War now.

Man, I didn't realize Paderborn had fallen so far. They have a pretty good chance at being relegated two years in a row :speechless:

Yeah, I might miss the games against Bremen but I think it's worth a try :sneaky::D

For todays game I will move from my season ticket seats to our company VIP lounge.
Last time I did this we lost against Frankfurt, hope this will be different today :whistling:
Only downside is that our CEO is also there, so I better behave properly. :D

Wow. Nice. Back in 1979, when I was in management, our owner had a "box" at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. I got to watch the world series from there. It was just a bunch of seats in the same section......directly behind home plate. ;-)
