No of course not. And I am willing to admit that I adored Beckenbauer as manager of the German national side.

What us grizzled old farts of forum engagement dislike passionately is the use of the ignore function as a political statement. If you want to ignore somebody fine. The rest of us don't need to know about it.

Bingo. Spot on.

Today was another good day for the Bundesliga. The Monchengladbach v Hertha games was a snoozer, but the Koln v Hoffenheim was pretty exciting.

Nothing like a little provocation to show us where you really stand. Honestly... hahaha... FC Bayern.... moral high ground... hahaha....

Be that as it may... I really wonder sometimes about foreign supporters of FC Bayern. Do they really understand or appreciate what Bavarian culture is really like, and how crooks like Hoeness and Beckenbauer are knock offs of Franz Josef Strauss or Edmund Stoiber. To me its like some Hungarian guy who thinks its cool to hang a Confederate flag in the garage.

Anyway... sad to see this little enclave evolve the spirit of a Donald Trump rally... (speaking of Bavarian like political culture). As far as I know, Bundesbiers isn't Mexican or wear head scarves too often. haha...

Sorry Sandolph, you live where exactly ??

I thought you lived in Canada ?

That is a more recent development. I spent the greatest portion of my adult life working in the German field office of a UK company.

If the question of my current residence is some sort of ad hominem diversion to cast doubt on my knowledge of life in Bavaria, my counter inquiry would be if these tactics are taught in the Robdog Enterprises School of Moderation?

No it isn`t taught in the Robdog school of moderation, and isn`t a diversion to anything or anything to do with your knowledge of Bavarian culture.
We all follow teams for whatever reason, and I think people shouldn`t have to put up with abuse from others, other than lighthearted jibing because somebody else dislikes them for whatever reason.

Two things about that sir. Firstly, different fan bases have different personalities. I couldn't have given a shet one way or the other for the New York Jets until I came across some of their fans. That said, is Croak you're typical FC Bayern fan? Probably not. The other guy who started this mess? That is much more likely.

Secondly, because you fail to look at these comments in the context they were written and continue to needle at me, I do not consider you moderate or impartial. We're not talking Green Bay Packers, you do not have to choose sides.

The guy who started this is a Cologne fan. Itkovian is my son, and a fine man. I invited him to this thread. I hadn't planned on him being subjected to regular anti-Bayern tirades, as this thread originally was not so.

BTW - Looking back over old posts I discovered that in January of 2013 PF71 predicted Pep would go to Man City.

No biggie logical deduction Croak, he was never going to Chelsea or Man U as for Arsenal Wenger quite possibly will be there til the end of time. The only other UK team that interested or could afford him were Man City. ;)

The guy who started this is a Bayern fan who just can't man up and admit certain stats or when his team gets jabbed at. He then declares some sort of lame pigeon-holing attempt. I don't pigeon-hole anyone, people put themselves in holes and I call it out as such. Yet that same Bayern fan jabs other teams and thinks it ok. When his team gets jabbed he feels he has to protect them at all costs. That's lame.

And I love how all these "American Bayern fans" love to dispel any notion of they "oh, they had family from that area so they are entitled to root for them without any prejudice or whatever"... hahaha. Really, not only do I not believe that but lets just assume its true for some of them. Why are none of them 1860 Munich fans? Oh, because of a thing called Bandwagon.

And in the same post you mentioned how Ancelotti learned English so quickly for Chelsea! Ha! You are spooky.

I guess the ignore feature is truly your friend. I was loathe to recommend it given that there are only a limited number of users of this thread, but it seems the only solution. @ Sandolph. As regards jibing at you ??? I merely asked a question.

Maybe we can put it behind us Mr. Bill. I read your comments as passive aggressive moderator schtick, the likes of which I have experienced on many an occasion. My membership, both here and at Bolttalk has not been a completely innocent one. But equally I have not been guilty of all purported infractions either. My thinking is that we have a good group here and pretty level headed with the possible exception of a little sniping between me and the Chelsea fan... (who I have since come to appreciate).

My belief is that the addition of Croak's son changed the dynamic and not the other way around. Bundesbiers has posted a lot here, and without incident beforehand. But ultimately that view of things and $2 will get you a cup of coffee.

Man City got two away goals vs PSG. I should be in a good mood. :D

The "discussion" the last 2 pages is pretty needless!

But I guess the Bayern-envy is pretty strong in every football forum and every fan of the red bavarians has to defend himself against these, in most cases, false accusations.

On topic:

Borussia Dortmund is giving Bayern a good fight and Bayerns remaining schedule is not that easy, especially looking at their last games:
Away vs Stuttgart
at home vs Schalke 04
away vs Hertha Berlin
at home against Borussia Moenchengladbach
away vs Ingolstadt
at home vs Hannover 96

At the bottom of the table Hannover is pretty much down and out. Augsburg, Bremen, Frankfurt, Hoffenheim, Darmstadt in the greatest danger of being relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. This saturday Werder hosts Augsburg, Frankfurt plays Hoffenheim and with a win against Darmstadt Hamburg could pretty much plan for the next season. And Stuttgart will give it all against Bayern to get some unexpected points of them, while Bayern has to do their very best to maintain the 5 points lead over Dortmund but at the same time, rest some players for the Benfica game next wednesday. Not an easy task, especially as the "South-Derby" is always pretty heated.
