If the team even kinda thinks Morgan is the future at LT I will bang the Jackson Slater drop until I’m blue in the face in the third round. Dude is going to be a starter in the league and is special.

Not risky at all IF the staff sees Morgan as a tackle.

Say Conerly Jr is there and we add him - he instantly could start there...we also have Jenkins who has played tackle in the NFL as well.

You could roll out a starting line of Conerly / Banks / Jenkins / Morgan / Tom and Rhyan be your swing interior which makes Walker highly surplus and attractive trade bait if a team has a guy go down. In this scenario you're likely also adding Dillard type guy back or another Day3 tackle prospect like Esa Poles as well.

I think this draft and decisions are being driven vastly more by 2026 than anything that is going to happen in 2025....this team has a SOLID young foundation, but with 6 starter level guys and 8 contributors and 10 that get actual snaps with expiring contracts after this year - this draft is MASSIVELY about handling the future more than the present IMO.
Well, I'll go on the record as saying that I consider it extraordinarily risky to replace 4 starting offensive linemen after a season where the old crew wasoverall considered in the top third of the league in performance. I dang sure wouldn't do it just out of fear of having a disastrous first half of the season and getting my franchise QB killed

Not seeing scenario where we have four new OL? Unless are you counting Jenkins moving as a new one?

I also don't consider Morgan a stark new guy either seeing as how he was instantly running half games with the 1s at RG from the drop...if healthy I think Rhyan already was going to find himself depth.

Even if we started a rookie draft pick...really only two new guys would be starting (with one being Banks) + Morgan (who one could argue was part of the unit already).

I'd personally still not hesitate to draft Conerly or Banks if there at 23 with 2026 in mind - and let 2025 competition say whether Walker is LT2 or LT1 for one year and if Rhyan is RG1 or RG2 and be golden IMO...a lot of folks would HATE THAT for sure.

I'm not adverse at all to drafting a future starting offensive tackle in the 1st round. I think it's a much more likely pick than a WR frankly.

Obviously I'm in the minority here, but I'm really averse to drafting an OT in the first round two years in a row when we have so many other immediate needs at other positions.

I don't think you're in a minority at all if they plan for Morgan to be a tackle. LaFleur seemed to indicate as much, which would mean that taking one high doesn't make a lot of sense.

But if they wanted to keep him at RG, then taking a tackle makes a ton of sense.

Which truth be told, let’s say Gutes board has OT1 assumed gone in top fifteen still there on draft day….they know and already were leaning Morgan at RG last year, they could still pull the trigger…

But I strongly feel they are gonna have a choice of their DL3 or Edge3 or WR3 at 23…maybe even their #2 at one of them also
