The SHOCKER is Hanson making the 53 - everyone knows I was a fan of his coming out of the draft his year, but haven't liked lately what I've seen. Chance we might keep him only to waiver grab someone else but who knows - perhaps he is our back up Center

I think your first hunch is right, I doubt he makes the 53. I think Patrick can play center, as can Jenkins. But given Bahk inactive for 6 games, maybe they don't want to have to move guys around if something happens to Myers.

Yeah, toss the coin between Kafusi and Dafney, Kafusi is bigger and might have a tad more range, but think Dafney is faster and understands the playbook a little better

Here's the theory for why they may have done this, till Bahk is back we have two guys with center experience Jenkins and Patrick

Jenkins is LT, they won't want to move him in should Myers get hurt at all.

Patrick's best position arguably is guard - they could be guarding their position that Patrick could be one of the guard starters (maybe him and Newman) and they feel if Myers goes down their best OL and less shuffling would be leave Patrick at guard and slide Hanson in the middle. It is the only theory in defense of keeping him I can come up with. Not crazy and has logic, even if in the end I think I disagree with it.

It is an interesting thing those two....one is a redundant for Lewis in a way and the other redundant for Deguara.

Seeing it now. Wilborn cut takes us to 5 ILBs left: Campbell, Barnes, Summers, Burns and McDuffie.

We have kept 10 DBs 2019-2020. With 4 Safeties we’d have room for 6 CB’s or the usual 5 CB’s and an extra LB or DT. I’m guessing going 9 LBs
Benardrick McKinney (3-down ILB) just released by Miami ~ wouldn't he be a significant upgrade in GB? Also saw Justin "Jelly" Ellis (6'-2", 350lbs) was released by Baltimore... would add serious "beef" in the middle of our DL.

I agree with you that both players might be upgrades, but I think the Packers are what 29th in line on waiver claims? I bet both players get scooped up pretty quickly.

Maybe. Just maybe. We could pick up Dexter? :ninja:

Although granted it would be the oddest move ever for a team to grab their own cuts. Lol:tdown:

Outside of Hanson making the final 53 it appears, no real big surprises yet....not keeping one of Gaines or Uphoff is a mild surprise but not something anyone would have said wasn't a decent possibility.

I know you like Dexter, but I don't think you need to worry about another team picking him up. Probably a nice guy, I hope he hooks on with another team. If you go back to the 2019 draft board, you will see that I was excited about him. Sadly, that excitement dwindled as I watched him play that preseason and the few times he played in the regular season.

BTW....my bank account for the $1 M is "First Poker Bank of Green Bay" Account number 8675-309

Using your words, I am still mildly surprised that we didn't keep Ento. Then again, we should be able to scoop him up on the practice squad.

tynimiller - did you take the day off from work to keep us all updated? If so, we should all chip in to buy you a six pack of beer.

I work at a desk and have just been refreshing feeds, once I see I pull up post and leave.
