This game reminds me a bit of the Atlanta game, the Packers are going to have to stop a pretty good QB from picking their secondary apart. Luck has been sacked 31 times already this season and the Packers are going to need to continue that trend to win. I hope Capers dials up more blitzes then we saw against Atlanta and doesn't let Luck get too comfortable in the pocket. If Hilton can't play for the Colts, that should allow less of what we saw the Packers having to do to stop Julio and free up guys to blitz on occasion.
If you watch the press conference with Capers on the Packers.com website, they asked him about blitzing more. After a brief laugh, he basically said that he's always been a blitzing DC. The problem is that to blitz, you need guys who can cover WRs 1-on-1. I doubt that anybody on this forum would say that Gunter and Goodson could hang with any of Atlanta's top WRs 1-on-1. They needed safety help, which means minimal blitzing.

As Gunter (hopefully) improves and we get Rollins and Randall back, I would expect to see more blitzing again. There's only so much you can do. I think that Capers did the right thing in blanketing their #1 weapon and then dealing with the cards dealt after that. Letting Julio catch 200+ yards would have gotten the Fire Capers thread bumped to the top of the forum.

Yup....totally agree with both you and Dom, that is what I was trying to say too. ;)

I'm sure there won't be any reason we double a single Colts we. Holton is solid but he's not in the same ballpark as Julio Jones. With that being said? Id expect Capers to blitz more. luck isn't a stiff in the pocket so I wouldn't just play man the entire game either and allow him to pick up yards scrambling.

I have seen the colts in London firsthand, if they will play as lacklustered next sunday and we wont beat them at Lambeau I dunno which team we will beat down the road...

They probably have the worst o-line and they are just as depleted injury-wise as any team in the league. This is a must-win!

Jared Cook, T.J. Lang and James Starks were limited participants during today's practice.

Didn't Cook and Starks practice on a limited basis last week as well? If so, we may not be able to get our hopes up yet.

Neither Cook nor Starks practiced at all last week. With that being said the chances of one of them playing on Sunday are extremely small.

If Monty and Cobb are both back I'd prefer keep both Starks and Cook out this week altogether (as if they'll listen to me! :whistling:)
We should be fine at home without either. I'd like to see Starks get a light load in Tennessee and Jared Reimplemented at FedEx. We'll be the better for it in the final stretch against tougher opponents.

Sounds like barring a setback, T.Y Hilton will now be playing on Sunday. Not quite the WR that Julio Jones is, but will still be a tough match-up for Gunter if he is left one on one.

I expect Hyde to cover Hilton on short to intermediate routes when the receiver lines up in the slot. Gunter might not be a great choice to cover him at all.

That's a preposterous prediction.

I'm thinking more in the lines of 49 to 11 ;)
I could see this being in the 40's or 50's, but I also see Indy putting some points up as well.

I'm thinking something along the lines of 41-20 Rodgers goes for 350 and 5 TD's.

Packers rule out Jared Cook, Damarious Randall, James Starks and J.C. Tretter for Sunday's game vs. Colts. Randall Cobb, Demetri Goodson, Clay Matthews and Quinten Rollins listed at questionable.

T.J. Lang and Ty Montgomery don't appear on the injury report anymore.

Encouraging on Matthews and Rollins. That would be huge.

Well, there's still a 50% chance Matthews and/or Rollins won't play.

and probably a 50% chance if they do, they will get re injured. I say let them have another week off and roll the dice you can beat Indy with the same defense we had against the Falcons.

Unfortunately Goodson is questionable as well meaning the Packers could end up with Gunter and Hawkins as the only cornerbacks best suited to play on the outside.

Read that too, I should have said "virtually" the same defense. If Rollins and Goodson can't play on Sunday, the Packers really have no choice but to go with Hawkins. After him, the "CB cupboard" is empty and it will be time for some of the Safeties to take over. Fortunately (knock on wood), all 6 of our safeties are healthy. Maybe Montgomery can play some CB too? :D

In that case I expect a combination of Hyde, Burnett and Brice to share snaps as the slot corner(s) on Sunday.

I guess that means Barclay will be snapping the ball. I think I'll use the rarely seen "speechless". >>> :speechless:
