Come on, its Cobb's contract year! He will put up 1250 yards, 14 yard average and 12 TD's.

He just better make more catches and score more TDs week 1 than Trey Burton because I'm starting him over Burton in a W/T/R spot in one of my leagues, and my green and gold loyalty had better be rewarded.

Wow, that is G&G loyalty! If I recall, he plays well against the Bears. Well, the entire team plays well against the Bears. As for 10 TDs and 1250 yards, I’d love it, but with Adams and Graham likely to produce big, I’d take 6 or 7 TDs and 700-800 yards from Cobb.

That's why a lot of people are saying he should be released and the cap space utilized elsewhere. The way they figure it just about anyone can produce those numbers with AR throwing the ball in the Packers offense so why not save the money. When looked at from that respect I can't say I 100% disagree. I just think there is a possibility of a lot more than that with Cobb. That and the lack of experience behind him and Adams would be disconcerting to me.

There have been five 1000 yard receiving trios in history. While its rare I don't see any reason why it couldn't happen again. Especially if none of the others step up and become big contributors. For the record the lowest number of passing yards by the QB needed to produce a trio was 4143 by Jeff George in 1995.

Oh, and the Browns just released Janis so he is available once again. Just sayin'.

I like Cobb as a person and player but he is NOT worth the salary he is earning. Cobb should be a guy who can take over a game with JG and Adams garnering so much attention...but I just don’t see it happening.
If he was a free agent and we had his 10 mil in the cap... I wouldn't sign him.
I'd go get a olineman. Tackle to be exact. Best one I can maneuver. Try not to end our franchise qbs career early.......now that #12 is signed. Protecting him needs to become more of a priority as he ages... Or reflecting to last year. Maybe we are a year too late already?

What If it was Cobb for mack

We would have won 17-16 ;) and been short 2-3 draft picks and a boat load of cash.

Mack looked great, but again, even a great defensive player can't single handedly win a game, AR on the other hand, did.

THIS......is why the Packers kept Randall Cobb!

It is only 1 game but you are 100% correct. Cobb was huge tonight. It is exactly the kind of results I thought we could get from Cobb when the chips were down. I doubt any of the rookies could have done it or many of those "cheaper" guys we could have brought in.

The play was made due to the chemistry and trust between Cobb and AR. Cobbs hustle and ability to put that ball into the endzone was him being a veteran player and confident he could. That might be Cobb's greatest game of the season, but as long as he is healthy, we all know that it is exactly what he is capable of doing at anytime.

It's the difference between knowing he can do it and hoping he can do it. I like knowing. (he being the WR in general and not Cobb specifically)

Agreed, any of the rookies may have been capable of making that play, but they first would have needed to keep their route going, second they would have had to have caught the ball and third, they would have had to have the presence of mind to get to the endzone. I will take Cobb over anyone not named Adams currently playing WR in GB. It will be interesting to see Jordy play tomorrow night.

He had a big game, made bigger by the go ahead TD. He looked like he was playing aggressively all night too. I love to see that from offensive players and something we've only seen at times from some people in recent memory. I hope it's a trend that catches on and continues. Can't wait to get Jones back at RB either and I know he's the more explosive of the runners, but Williams and the job he does can't be understated. He's a hard dependable runner and a monster in pass protection.

Last night definitely showed why the Packers need Cobb. He looked like a guy that was more explosive than he's been in a long time. He also looked like a guy that knows he has to step up in the absence of Jordy Nelson.

It was really encouraging to see.

With what I saw from Geronimo last night, along with obviously what I seen from Adams and Cobb, with what you're alluding to with our running backs situation, the Packers seem to have some ingredients to work with.

I'll be excited to see Graham really get integrated into this offense. It could be pretty good.

I would just like to reiterate that Mike Lombardi is one of the biggest hacks in the world of media surrounding the NFL. He proves frequently that his facade of being a well-informed insider is a facade. Cobb might or might not have been a subject of trade conversations this offseason, but I don't buy anything that comes out of that clown's mouth.

Cobb surprised me last night. He looked incredible. This is the fastest I have seen him play since its first two years.

Well, guess that's what happens when Grandpa Vince disowns you.
