Bye Clay, been good having you as a packer, some highs some lows. i think he produced more this season than he had the previous 2/3, but maybe without getting the sacks.

as for the rams contract, obviously it's because he's worth it!!

I always liked Clay. He reminds me of Thor quite a bit.
Now that he's out in LA, maybe he can get some work in Hollywood, or at least some more commercials or endorsement deals.

I've been pretty down on Clay, but now that he's gone I'm sorry to see him go. He was never a complainer and he gave the Packers some great seasons. I really hope that when he retires for good that the Packers organization and fans really honor him.

He'd have to turn back the clock 7-8 years and have 4 or 5 more like that and maybe. I don't see that happening
he needs 17 sacks in in the next two years to get to 100. although unlikely it's doable considering the attention that'll have to be given to others on that D. he'll be getting playoff games too.

i wasn't talking about getting to 100, I was talking about the HOF. I don't think he gets there even if he gets to 100. Too many years where the product has been only average to above. Not enough HOF years in there to make it.

Thor from the movies and comic books then.
Although I believe according to the Norse legends, he had red hair.

I think that's supposed to be Thor wearing a "ram" helmet. So, point taken. ;)

If he was cut 3 years ago, this big quitting play never happens.

If you can pick out on instance to judge him, I am going to pick this one and judge him. Big quitter.
Damn that was a great game to relive!!!

Mathews has less chance of getting in the HOF than Nick Collins...

He was a juiced up pretender (but he was OUR juiced up pretender).... faded fast when the league tightened up their testing protocols...

Persobally I wrote him off after he quit during the NFCCG agsinst Seattle...

Wish we had canned his *** after that and used the cap space elsewhere...

Clay played his heart out for this team, changed positions when we needed it, and was a big part of bringing another Lombardi Trophy to Green Bay. From the start, he was dogged by nagging hamstring injuries. He did his best but it's time to part ways. He'll be a fan alumni favorite for the rest of his life.
Very fitting tribute to CMIII El Guapo. Well said.
