So much for Whitticker. This from today's JSOnline article;

Shuffling the deck: Convinced after a couple of days that Will Whitticker can't help them at left tackle, the Packers moved him back to the right side and inserted right guard Junius Coston into the backup left tackle position during the night practice.

The sore knee bothering starter Chad Clifton and the season-ending Achilles' tendon injury to Adrian Klemm has left the Packers in dire straights on the left side so they made a drastic move.

"He (Coston) is the guy who gives us the flexibility because he has played left tackle," coach Mike McCarthy said.

Coston, who is competing with rookie Jason Spitz for the right guard job, played some left tackle his freshman season at North Carolina A&T and served there on the scout team last year as a rookie. He will continue to work at right guard as well as left tackle.

On Thursday night, Coston couldn't handle Kabeer Gbaja-Biamila in several pass-rushing situations but it was his first try at the position since the end of last season. Perhaps more discouraging for the Packers was the way Whitticker got bounced around at right guard in one-on-one pass-rushing drills.

Someone must have received an F in science. For a right handed QB, your LT is your saving grace. Ask Aikmen why he had to leave the game. QB's see the DT's coming at them but can lose sight of the DE's or blitzing LB's and/or DB's off the edge. LT's are the highest paid OL in the game because of the role they play. Yes it is concerning and day to day but do not take it too lightly if "the Chad" winds up out. I echoed the same thing when Barry went out and now Klemm, we need depth in this unit and the competition to push our younger players. The sky is not falling but the clouds are gathering. Let's all hope this blows away.
