For being wrong about Allison. The passing play in overtime proved Romo wrong. Quickness and cuts.

No, you're wrong.

Romo illustrated how Allison did not break out of his route as well as Cobb would have, and that it's harder for a big tall guy to do that compared to a little guy. And he was right, it's why Allison had hardly any separation coming out of his break. Cobb would've been at least a yard open on that okay, Allison was covered tight.

Making a cut while having the ball running downfield is different than breaking off on a route (specifically an out to an in). And it wasn't even criticism from Romo, he was just explaining that Allison isn't as physically capable of making that break as Cobb is.

lol So you are freely admitting you would prefer a homer broadcast. That is fine, but is not really a condemnation of Romo.
I'm not sure if I would prefer a homer broadcast, but I do know I think Aikmen dislikes the packers, Joe Buck is annoying, Collinsworth sounds like a *********, and its difficult to listen to a radio broadcast that's not on page with the TV.

For those who have been posting much longer than me, does this set the record for most disagrees on a post? :whistling:

Romo is the only announcer that I look forward to listening to. Collinsworth used to be that way as well but being in the booth slowly twists guys until they go from being super-informative to "i'll just mention a famous player's name on this play even if he had nothing to do with it".
Yeah, I don't care much for Collinsworth at all. I have way too many "huh, what?" reactions to his live take of what's going on. If he bothered to correct himself every time it would be embarrassing. He's a film guy, better at breaking down a replay. Unlike Romo, he's Mr. Story Arc. Unfortunately, few games actually have one that persists past the first quarter.

that's typical for people whom are new to a job, sort of eases the tension for the new person

...considering Tony is still fairly "new" as a commentator I would say that I can understand it

Yeah, I can see that, trying to put him at ease. The thing is I'm not sure he really needed it. I will say this, I don't think I have ever heard an announcer pick apart plays like Romo did and how many times did he say something like "I would do this in this situation but they will probably do that" and he was right. I think he will be a good one.

We used to have more options to express disapproval than just disagree. That would skew the results unless you include all negative clicks. Maybe Capt has some stats for this. :geek:

Looking for suggestions?

We need one that says "It is factual but I am offended. However, your grammar is spot on."

The perfect symbol is, of course, a sad cartoon female monkey in a tight onesie with big ******* playing a piano.

I think part of the issue we have in this world is not being patient with one another.
I watched an early run of Joel Osteen when he was first taking over for his dad. He looked nervous, he fumbled over his own words constantly. I initially thought this guy will never make it! He soon touched over 25,000,000 viewers a month and is arguably one of the most recognized name in televangelism today. Had he been judged on 1 performance he would've never even made the cut.

I really enjoyed Romo. Besides being solid with the X's and O's commentary, I thought his personality really was coming through. I like the fact that he isn't polished. He's just another dude sitting in the living room watching the game in your house. Only difference is he is a former NFL QB.

I hope he doesn't change. As annoying as Madden could be, he never changed.

He made several comments about what he would do in certain down and distance and time situations that collaborated with my thought process. I enjoy having a veteran QB or Coach's perspective because they often are the one's who dictate in pressure situations what the next move is. I thought he did fine. I'm more trying to get used to him not being on the field, seems a bit odd to me still.

Wrong? Ya'll keep mentioning the route. I'd be my life that Cobb would not have been able to cut on that route if he was getting tackled like that by Adam Jones. I don't understand why you can't get pass the Wisconsin bias of Romo.

You're all attacking me when I said he did well, but on that play, he was out of his mind.

What you don't seem to understand is that the point Romo was making is that Cobb is quicker inside and the D back may not have had a chance to react in time to "tackle him" early in the first place. Nobody is arguing that jones was or wasn't all over Allison... what Romo was arguing is that Cobb's quickness may have prevented it in the first place.
