He wants out of Washington , but i don't know at what price it would cost the Pack to get him . Sometimes a change helps a player , and if he could play up to his potential .........

The price to get him should be cheap.

Bad Knee? Perhaps fine now but who knows?

Played three games this year and has 2 tackles, so stats say he is not the same player as he was.

4 games last year and had 15 tackles before his injury.

Point I am making is he is a risk and there is a reason he wants out of the SKIN in REDSKINS.

Good thought though Ohio... I like your thinking. Sometimes a change in the locker room is a good thing.

It is Friday night. I will think about this in the morning... Right now I am focused on my Los Angeles Angels taking a 2-1 lead against the dreaded YANKEES.

With Diggs hurt so often, he could help, but I don't think TT would go after a player like Arrington. If we were one LB away from a Super Bowl I think TT would consider it, but with so many holes to fill I don't think TT would go after him.

what a time-appropriate thread...

tonight, one of the biggest penn state games in about six years vs. the bucks...and on packer forum i get to give my feedback on one of the nittany lion greats...god yeah i wanna see the lavar leap come to lambeau field...whatever it takes...it looks like a fat contract extension for ahman is out of the question, we'll have money...bring lavar to green bay

and as for tonight's game...WE ARE!!!!! PENN STATE!!!!!

ha. I thought the same thing a few weeks ago when I read on PFT.com that he was not gonna be in the 'Skins uni's the following year. The guy can be a dominant player if in the right system <-- opinion

I like the idea of adding a linebacker.

Diggs is a question mark now was as far as his injuries are concerned, and Thomas hasn't shown anything thus far.

So, Barnett is the only player that has shown that he belongs out there.

Though from the stuff I've read off PFT.com, Arrington, sounds like a complete *********.

we should've picked up Winborn from SF...he's a badass that was underperforming in the new 3-4 they installed over there. he got demoted so he wanted out..i think Jacksonville got him, so that ship has sailed.

lavar arrington can do no wrong...that is how most every pennsylvanian feels...

barnett has been alright at middle linebacker, very steady...thomas on the outside is solid...diggs is too much of a liability, he rarely can piece together consecutive starts

whatever happened to...before the draft i heard we were going for a middle linebacker (odell thurman, channing crowder) and shift nick barnett to the outside...what happened to that??? if we can get a shot at virginia's inside linebacker ahmad brooks in the draft i say go for it...

can't blame this team for lack of trying...raynoch thompson looked to be a good addition, up until this season (training camp) he's been good, and looked to be a solid addition...and we have one heck of a steal on robert thomas...he's still young (26?), and we got him for chris johnson who to date has done nothing...and it looks like our CB position is panning out with harris, caroll, hawkins, and thomas if he gets back healthy

Wow he didn't even get on the field this week.

The steady decline of linebacker LaVar Arrington's playing time -- and perhaps his career in Washington -- continued Sunday as the three-time Pro Bowl pick failed to get on the field for the Redskins' 21-19 loss at Denver.

Personally, I am taking a strong liking to Roy Manning. The kid seems to pack a whollup and uses fine form when tackling. Also has nice athleticism and coverage skills, from what little I have seen.

You raise a good point JavonWalker084 but I think Aaron Rodgers happened. Otherwise, we probably would have taken a Thurman or Crowder. TT didn't see Aaron Rodgers slipping to #24 and felt he had to take that kid at that spot. Anyway, I hear that Brooks LB from Virginia is the real deal and it sure would be nice to get him.

Nope. The guy is arrogant, defiant, apparently has no cartiledge left in the knee joint and would surely cost too much.

What is not to like about the play of Roy Manning and Thomas right now? The LBs are flying around and filling holes and providing sure tackling.

I noticed Thomas a few times on Monday night last week, some good tackles, and the kid is still young...i havent seen enough of Manning yet to make an assumption, but if we get a shot at ahmad brooks, go for it in april

Not unless he comes extremely cheap.
The knock on him, which I heard on ESPN Radio this morning, is that he plays with no discipline, he just does his own thing.
Would that attitude fit into Bates plan?

You are right, TOP. Diggs might make some attractive trade bait if these youngsters continue to develop in his absence.

And, no, yooperfan, he would not fit into Bates scheme as it is all about discipline and being assignment sure...no room for loose cannons.

perhaps it might not be a good idea to bring him in. We therefore would end up stunting the growth and development of our young players, unless they just use him on passing downs to get sacks. And with Brooks, he's injured I believe, but still a player. Teams may shy away from this then he would be available later in the 1st round. Let the kid get healthy and play like the bills did with Mcgahee. So I say we keep what we have and let them develop and get help later. I know bates can work his magic

Actually, Will Witherspoon will be an unrestricted free agent following this season. Carolina signed Dan Morgan this past off season as both were due to be FAs. Now Witherspoon and DeShaun Foster are the "high profile" FAs in Carolina. I believe they will only be able to afford one, if others don't drive the price of both through the roof and thus we lose both. We can afford to lose Foster more so with Davis, Shelton, Goings, Smart and now Robertson. But IF (big if) Spoon doesn't want to hang around, and I were a Pack fan/management/player/etc, I'd be all over Will Witherspoon long before Lavar Arrington. Even if they came at the same price... which I think Arrington would think he's worth more money.
