Was such a bummer to hear that news. Brewer baseball won't be the same without his voice! I actually enjoyed listening to a Brewer game on the radio, with him broadcasting, more than watching on TV.

RIP Mr. Baseball, I hope you are given a Great Seat Buddy, to continue to watch Baseball!

He'll always have the best seat in the house. No matter where he would be seated being next to him would make a day at the ballpark pretty darned special.

I can't watch baseball ... I always has the game on the radio in the garage. Many a game day sitting with the neighbors, in my garage, listening to the guy.

End of an era for sure. There was only one Ueck in sports. Hearing his voice was always the harbinger of spring. Nothing better than to listen to Ueck tell stories or explain the nuances of baseball during blowout games. I always looked forward to 11-3 games just to know Ueck would be at his best.

The soundtrack of my youth, was laying on the fold-down bed in the back of our dad's van (no seatbelts of course) driving back from somewhere listening to Bob Uecker on AM radio. The crackle while passing under each bridge... His voice was idealistic. His self-deprecating approach to baseball humor was perfect.

Honor him by reading some of his quotes. Finding the lighter side of life was what he was all about:
We shall miss him. A guy who got moved from a front row seat to the upper deck bleachers in the corner down the foul line he still never missed the tag. His playing days were amusing. His broadcasting stands out. From George Scott to Robin Yount to Harvey's Wallbangers and beyond he will always be there.

Pretty cool that Ueck was still doing something he loved to do, for an organization he absolutely loved. I never got to watch him play baseball, but he was THE voice of baseball for me growing up. I didn't realize that up until 2021, he never signed a written contract, everything was a handshake deal for Bob.

Not sure how many of you are familiar with Paul Braun. Braun had been the voice of Wisconsin Men's Hockey since 1973. If you were a Badger Hockey fan, you knew Paul and his familiar voice and his iconic "A shot and a goal." He stepped away from calling games around 2014. This year he came back at the age of 73 and is calling the Badger Women's Hockey games. As someone that follows that program, its a treat to hear him call games again.

Something about a familiar voice calling the games of your favorite teams on the radio. You don't have to be at the game, because the voice makes you feel like you are right there. Probably to many, it's like that familiar smell of walking into your Mom's kitchen, while she is serving up one of your favorite dishes. Brewer Baseball just won't be the same without hearing Ueck and his iconic voice.

Amazing that he is still going.
That " Shot and a goal " was first made famous by the late Lloyd Petit, who did Chicago Blackhawks TV and Radio hockey in the 1960s on WGN. Petit actually had a home in Milwaukee and would commute to do home games. Up until that time hockey goals were always described by " Score. "
Petit was offered a national network offer and would have succeeded Dan Kelly but WGN would not let him out of his contract. Caused quite a stir.

When I read the news when I woke up it broke me.

Listening to him call the Brewers games make my Summer vacations growing up.
