Agreed. He had a promising career as a starter with the queens until that nasty, nasty knee injury. He’s probably lucky to have landed as a backup. But unless Brees goes down, I don’t see him as a starter any time soon. Even though he was with the queens, I feel bad for the guy. Certainly looked like he was a good starter before that injury. And as for ARod’s replacement once he’s called it a day, well, let’s hope we don’t have to worry about that for a good number of years.
Bridgewater is not bad I wouldn’t want him as my starter just cuz I’m not impressed with his arm he wasn’t bad for the Vikings.. I feel like he was a good fit there and I think they maybe gave up on him to early idk he has def looked good since the injury I personally feel like he is a real class act tho and a good person off the field u should look up some of the stories he did with special children.. it’s pretty cool! As far as Rodgers goes I don’t wanna have to worry about any backup I don’t care who it is I don’t wanna see Rodgers off the field ever.. lol I really hope we win another frickin super bowl I mean being blessed with Favre and Rodgers and only have 2 Super Bowls!? Come on man two of the greatests and that’s it.... makes me sick we need the talent around to go! Gute trying to make it happen

Maybe Ted Thompson is working in the lab? Lmao

I don't think Bridgewater every showed anything more than Hundley except he had a RB and a good defense. Lots of optimism, but I don't think he ever looked that good in doing it. He was young though. Devastating injury and I did feel bad for him

Oh, come on. Teddy is leagues ahead of Hundley!
I'd disagree. Teddy has never shown me much of anything. Short easy passer set up by good running game and little pressure to make the offense go because of the defense.

He showed a LOT more then Hundley in college before his leg injury. No reason to think he won't be a good pro once he has time to finish developing.

Teddy was wildly overrated in Minnesota, but he's much better than Hundley.

Maybe the Saints will trade us Taysom Hill back now that they have Teddy.

I couldn't even guess where Teddy went to school. I saw him as a Viking, and he never did a thing to show me he was much of anything. I'm going to venture a guess that neither is any more than a back up. Argue amongst yourselves who you think is better. I'm quite alright not caring what either does anymore.

I admit that I thought Hundley was much better than he has shown...

Here is what I think glitched Hundley out in our offense. Look at #12. Her is one of the greatest pocket passers ever imo. Like he magically floats to the path of least resistance in a swarm of bees. Then delivers perfectly at the last second.
Or
He escapes. Point is he is a pocket passer and then if he has to he becomes a great runner...

Hundley runs when he doesn't have to. Hundley doesn't trust the pocket I don't think, because he is always jumpy looking.

Hundley has arm, legs, knows the offense... But he didn't trust the pocket. Or his instincts to run first couldn't be broken.

Maybe in Seattle he will fit the offense scheme better. ?

Definitely agree that Hundley.. 1) doesnt trust the pocket.. 2) doesn't have pocket presence... 3)rewatching some last season games, his teammates didn't do him justice at times (dropping passes at critical times and allowing ball to go up in the air for easy interception). Sure, he made some poor mistakes but his teammates sure didnt help.

If you look at ARods first preseason game, you can see the poor mechanics, strong arm, but what Aaron has is pocket presence and the ability to move out when pocket collapses, which stayed with him throughout.

Trade for Hill with what and who?

I disagree. I thought Bridgewater was the best pocket passer in the 2014 draft and was able to make good decisions. He looked poise in Louisville and was a fun to watch. Won't surprise me if Bridgewater takes over after Brees retires.

Well...there was that first round pick I'm sure they would like back.

It was easy to miss the sarcasm in the first post but I'm sure you can pick up on it here.

I have no desire to get Taysom Hill back although he would have been better than Hundley. At least he has value on special teams.

To answer your question though how about that 6th rounder we got for Hundley

They call him Check down Teddy for a reason. Built on the strength of a defense behind him and a running game. He never had pressure to perform as a QB. I don't care about college, never saw him there

Neither of our last two stud QB’s were locks for greatness. They both had very good coaching. If McCarthy is around when the time comes for Rodgers replacement, I like our chances. He made Rodgers what he has become imo.

Well, the thing about Bridgewater is unlike Hundley, he actually came out of an offense that was more like Mike McCarthy's. Problem is while I think he has decent pocket presence, he's not too elusive back there like Rodgers is. At times he can seem to be a little trigger shy too.

For now though, I'm interested in seeing if we can salvage Kizer out of the Cleveland mess. Boyle too could be a prospect, but I'm a bit worried he may lack having enough touch on his passes to make various drop-in throws to the receivers.

This is offensive to Rodgers. How's tubby done with the other non hof QB's? That says it all.

Rodgers is the only quarterback McCarthy got to develop who had all the tools to turn into an elite quarterback. It's ridiculous not to give MM any credit for #12 becoming the best QB in the league after changing his throwing motion and foot work because Hundley and others drafted on day three or signed as undrafted free agents didn't turn into All-Pros.
