Why is Brett Hundley still in camp as Rodgers backup?
Haven't we seen enough of him last year?
What makes the Packers think he's so great?

He costs nothing yet, they see good in him, nobody offered to trade for him, he has pictures of McCarthy's daughter or wife, politics, Gute forgot he was there, camp arm, special reclamation project, Ted is pulling strings behind the scenes. Take your pick or offer your own options.

Right now hes just a camp body someone who probably isnt going to make the team but is there anyway. As it been stated before he cost us nothing to have him at the moment may as well give him the training camp treatment till he gets bested by Kizer and then release him into the wild blue yonder at the 53 man deadline.

One of the few NFL QBs that had a debate-ably worser season?
I know it’s been beat to death by some, but in Kizers defense he was a rookie starting for the worst team in the NFL. He arguably performed better than Hundley who has no excuse except for that he lacks the skill to be an NFL quarterback.

The Packers are fully aware Hundley isn't great by any means but with Kizer having struggled in camp as well he might end up making the roster again.

just got to ask this question, but would it be worth taking a QB from the CFL to be a backup for AR? is it even possible during their season??

The kid was a rookie thrown into the fire. Hundley had 3 seasons to watch a future HoF QB play and learn from.

I do fully expect Kizer to beat Hundley.

Plus, Hundley supposedly has the best QB coach in the league. Which makes one wonder.............. where the blame for the failure really resides.

Radio interview, Hundley said he was going to be the GOAT. Harry Sydney commented he wonders if he is all there.

Hundley said he now has game tape to review and build upon.

My first advice to him would be, your demeanor is important. Dont chew gum. Act confident and "I got this" attitude. You look nervous and scared, chewing gum and darting your eyes around. Relax. Your team will have confidence and give the extra boost of effort. Right now I dont see much confidence when you are on the field.

My thought is he has little chance of making it with Kizer and the surprising rookie, who will get to the PS at least, on the roster.

On the radio, hard to tell that it was lower-case. He said he was going to be the goat, not the GOAT.

MM flat out told the world he could play QB last year when asked if they packers needed to sign someone after Rodgers got hurt. Obviously he was a little off on that assessment but let's remember that MM is a QB-guru so I'm sure he knows something about Hundley we don't

My thoughts on Hundley are mixed and all over the place. For his first 2 starts and the Minnesota game I thought 'ok he needs time, he'll be like Rodgers, struggle early and get better' (Rodgers didn't show much until the Dallas game in '07 let's be honest here folks) then after that 2nd start I started sliding toward the camp that hates him. He is mobile, maybe more so than Aaron. Decent/big arm. But the "IT" thing which at times even Aaron doesn't have, Hundley doesn't have at all. Did Kizer have a worse year last year? Debatable, but I ask this...what would Kizer have done with Jordy, Davante, Geronimo, a decent running game? I think Kizer ends up being the backup, but I think they keep Hundley to the final cutdown just so they can say 'hey we never gave up on you'.

The Packers would be allowed to sign a quarterback from the CFL to be their backup but I don't believe there's one available who would be an upgrade over either Kizer or Hundley. Especially without having any knowledge of the offensive scheme.

According to reports from camp Kizer hasn't been any better than Hundley though. I'm curious about their performance in preseason games.

Teams don't have to cut down their roster to 75 players a week before finalizing their roster anymore.

What is general outlook here on Teddy Bridgewater? If he can prove his health, could he be in consideration to be AR12's successor? He'd be 29 in 4 years and in prime.

I don’t know that Kizer outplayed Hundley in the preseason. It now seems like the Packers were starting Hundley to drive up his stock, which seemed to work now that he’s been traded for a 6th round pick. I don’t think they would have gotten that two months ago. But Hundley had 3 years in the system and simply topped out. So the move to get Kizer was a good one. I’m glad Hundley is gone, and hope we never have to find out if Kizer can produce in a real game. And finally, the trade for Kizer was a good one. Randall was a cancer in the locker room, and that can mess with the entire team. Good riddance.

Well, I’m expecting ARod will play more than 4 years. As for Bridgewater, I don’t see a lot of upside. The injury he suffered probably ruined a promising career as a starter. He’s a good backup, and may eventually get back to starting, but that’s a long road unless his starter gets injured. I just don’t see it happening anytime soon. And hopefully GB won’t have to start looking for an ARod replacement for a number of years.

Hey Captain, when did that interim cut to 75 go away? It seems like this is the first year that all the cuts come at once. That makes for a mad scramble as teams prep for week 1 while trying to decide if they want to add a player who was cut.

Turns out you were right about Hundley and Kizer. And yes, ARod didn’t light up the game right away. That changed quickly, and fortunately, for Packer fans. For what it’s worth, I didn’t think Rodgers would succeed in the NFL, having watched him play at Cal. He used to hold the ball up high, right next to his helmet. Didn’t look like his mechanics were that good, or at least not good enough for the NFL. Boy, am I glad to have been dead wrong on that assessment!

He got traded to the saints. I don’t think he is going anywhere. No chance he comes to green bay

Agreed. He had a promising career as a starter with the queens until that nasty, nasty knee injury. He’s probably lucky to have landed as a backup. But unless Brees goes down, I don’t see him as a starter any time soon. Even though he was with the queens, I feel bad for the guy. Certainly looked like he was a good starter before that injury. And as for ARod’s replacement once he’s called it a day, well, let’s hope we don’t have to worry about that for a good number of years.
