Did they have it correct in 1937 when they held 10 rounds of the draft? Mostly kidding with that, but the whole UDFA thing makes me wonder if there should be more rounds in the draft. Clearly the NFL could market the extra day -- "Day 4 of the NFL Draft on ESPN the Ocho!"
There are plenty of good players that don't get drafted yet get to pick their ideal situation, creating the scrum and bidding wars by teams and agents. Maybe that is just the strategic advantage that these bubble players need/deserve in order to crack a roster - choose their best situation versus being put onto a team that may be toxic to their career potential. I'm just surprised that the NFL hasn't added extra rounds in order to cash in on the draft phenomenon.
