Did they have it correct in 1937 when they held 10 rounds of the draft? Mostly kidding with that, but the whole UDFA thing makes me wonder if there should be more rounds in the draft. Clearly the NFL could market the extra day -- "Day 4 of the NFL Draft on ESPN the Ocho!"

There are plenty of good players that don't get drafted yet get to pick their ideal situation, creating the scrum and bidding wars by teams and agents. Maybe that is just the strategic advantage that these bubble players need/deserve in order to crack a roster - choose their best situation versus being put onto a team that may be toxic to their career potential. I'm just surprised that the NFL hasn't added extra rounds in order to cash in on the draft phenomenon.

If they went to 10 Rds, then we would have to pick 30 guys for the Amish Mock Draft Contest... I can envision the 13 point score in rd 10 for the win, already!

I love that the first response to the prospect of altering the number of rounds in the draft is regarding the affect on the draft contest!

Makes me wonder how many guys on all 53-player rosters are UDFA. I have no idea how to find it. Just would be an interesting stat.

Hey, maybe besides the Super Bowl, The Amish Draft has become one of the TOP Sporting events in the World. Are you still negotiating with HBO on a live week long documentary covering the Amish draft? :coffee:

Speaking of The Amish Draft. Ever given any thought of allowing us to adjust our picks after each round or at least each day? ;)

Guessing that would require multiple threads, with each being locked down at the appropriate moments.

Something always seems to happen to me on draft weekend. This year I was busy attending the event and spending time with my daughter (a far more precious use of my time now that she is out there in the world). But it sounds like fun and I don't think it would have helped me much. I didn't see most of these picks coming and I would have deleted all the wrs after round 1 and substitutes CBs.
