Opinions are like A-holes, we all have one.
If they aren't going to ban someone aiding by pushing I think they should implement a rule they have to declare it and place positional restraints on both teams so that you don't see offenses check in every big guy as eligible and defenses be void of DBs.
That positional restraint should allow the defense to line up right on the nose of the ball, as opposed to outside the neutral zone, no matter where the center moves it to. I was watching centers this year, especially on really short yardage situation. Many of them bend down, pick up the ball (to position it) and place it well ahead of the original LOS. That just gives that damn **** Push even more of an advantage.
They could also implement a rule that if the QB is under center, offensive lineman aren't allowed to cut-block (block below the waist).
I'm still waiting for a someone on the defensive side of the ball to come up with a sure fire way to stop that play. However, when you have 320+ lb guys taking your legs out, followed by the QB and guys pushing him up and over, it seems almost impossible to stop, at least under the current rules.
