QB: Matt Moore or Geno Smith (backup)
RB: None
FB: Anthony Sherman (let's really take care of our run game)
LT: N/A
LG: N/A
C: Brett Jones (was starter, capable backup for Linsley)
RG: Andrew Norwell or Justin Pugh (either addition would make this offense scary as hell)
RT: Ja'Wuan Jones (why not go all out and fortify the O-Line for AR12 as he enters the "homestretch of his career")
TE: Trey Burton, Tyler Eifert, or Cameron Brate are all better than last year's options (young too)
WR: Josh Gordon (One-year incentive laden deal, true deep threat, and he gets to play with a Franchise QB) or Donte Moncrief (young, explosive with an elite QB)

DE: I would make a concerted push for Adrian Clayborn (this guy could make our front seven formidable and versatile), and I would also go after Trent Murphy and Kony Ealy. 2 year deal for Clayborn, 1 year deals for Murphy and Ealy respectively.
DT: Justin Ellis or DaQuan Jones (run stuffers that can offer interior pass rushing)
LB: Nigel Bradham (would be a solid free agent pickup if draft offers nothing special), and I would definitely offer a 1 year deal to Paul Posluszny ( veteran, great tackler, and would become a fan favorite).
ILB: Demario Davis (couple with Martinez would provide athleticism)
CB: Trumaine Johnson or Aaron Colvin or Kyle Fuller (all one-year deals, possible two-year for Colvin)
S: Draft one or get a free agent (Tre Boston would help with HCD and the secondary)
K: None
P: Draft! Draft!! Draft!!!

Maybe Gute will be different, but TT didn't make a lot of player trades, especially with division rivals.

Yeah, I mean player trades are pretty darn rare in the NFL on the whole. I just happened to read that the Vikes may look to trade him. Cheap gamble with decent upside will always get my attention.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins has reportedly turned down a 2 year, 8M$ deal with the Jets.

We wouldn't have enough money to resign Rodgers if we did all that.

GB will have the money because there will be cuts and salary restructures in order for this to happen. This will happen!!! My list is a wish list. However, the prospects in free agency are attainable. If I were Rodgers I would consider signing three year max deals (two years guaranteed) and put the onus on GB to remain steadfast in building a championship roster. Some of the players on my list will play on one year contracts for a legitimate shot of winning the SB.

You’re talking about them signing like 12 dudes, many of whom are going to be the top guys at their positions on the market. How are cuts and restructures going to clear enough for all that?

We don't need all of that.

Paul Richardson
Aqib Talib

That's more than enough.

I liked the Evans pick up last year.

This year I'm going to say we should regroup, and start with a contract for #12 that takes him to 40 years old. Show him the dedication GB has to him.

Then draft smart. We are used to picking 29th every dang year. From #14, We could trade down every round. And still pick 10 picks ahead of what we are used to...

That's what I think we should do this year to help the salary cap long term. Draft a bunch of rookies, and hit on a few.

Not an FA, but the Vikings may look to trade Laquon Treadwell. Anyone interested in that? He was a first round pick at WR 2 years ago that hasn't produced much *yet* but that's in MN and behind Diggs, Thielen, Rudolph, etc. and beneath a lot of QB turnover. Pretty confident he beats the heck out of anyone we'd draft with a late pick, and that would likely be his trade cost.

I didn't like Treadwell coming out of college and his first two years with the Vikings didn't change my mind about him at all. There's no reason for the Packers to trade for him.

The Packers don't need to sign that many free agents and as some other posters have pointed out the team doesn't have enough cap room to pull it off. I would like Gutekunst to create some additional cap space by restructuring some contracts and sign impact veterans at tight end, edge rusher and cornerback in free agency.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins has reportedly turned down a 2 year, 8M$ deal with the Jets.

I would prefer the Packers to pursue either Trey Burton or Cameron Brate.

Not a free agent, but Marcus Peters might be on the trade block.

It would be awesome if the Packers could acquire an impact player like Peters at a position of need, especially at a salary of only $3 million for next season allowing the Packers to bring in some other veterans as well.

Burton is my first choice. I don’t think Brate will be a realistic option. I’d be surprised if he didn’t get a 2nd round tender. Seferian-Jenkins is just an interesting fall back option to monitor.

Brian Cushing anyone? Could be a stop gap until they draft someone.

I realize he was once a very good player, but the current iteration would seem to be a downgrade from the younger, cheaper Blake Martinez.

The Packers shouldn't be interested in bringing in a player that was suspended for 10 games because of violating the performance-enhancing substances policy.

Geez....just after I mention trading Jeff Janis for Treadwell I read this LOL. This writer has Janis listed first in his list of the "top underutilized backup FA's" that the Patriots should go after. What are they drinking in New England? :coffee:

I think Janis would’ve been a top 3 WR for the last 2 years in three quarters of NFL cities. Playing with Aaron Rodgers is a different kettle of fish.

I disagree, but if the Packers don't resign him and he lands on one of those 24 teams you refer to, we will find out.

How many rookies and UDFA's have passed Janis on the depth chart since he has been here? Even with Hundley at QB, Clark passed him up. I still don't get this fan fascination with a guy that had 4 years to prove himself at WR and besides 101 yds via 2 hail marys, did very little else at WR.
