While we´ll never know about how selecting Sherrod would have turned out because of the devastating injury he suffered in Kansas City his performance during his rookie season was mostly disappointing.

No I know it was overall, but the staff was extremely high on him. Don't get me wrong I am a big fan of the guys we have on our OL now.

Although it should be noted that that was the year of the NFL lockout, kid didn't get a rookie orientation or mini camp and pretty much had to pick things up on the fly in Training camp. He did battle back though and held his own against Atlanta and was playing solidly against KC when Newhouse wrecked his career.

Sorry but the fact you have Sherrod lumped in the same boat shows either you either simply don't know Sherrod's history or story or choose to ignore it. If he'd not had the injury once here, the dude most likely would still be starting along our line. Yes, everything pointed towards him being that good.

I agree. But he still did end up having the injuries. I'm not saying he was a horrible pick at the time of his drafting. But rather he ended up being a horrible pick after the fact due to his injuries. Yes hindsight but luck is a factor when evaluating players selected in the past.

Well, you said that Harrell and Sherrod were horrible choices by Thompson. While I agree about Harrell as he was already injury-prone in college there was absolutely no way for TT to know that Sherrod would suffer a devastating injury during his rookie season.
