I disagree. Hayward was always better in the slot, but he was never worse than average on the outside.

I'm not sure we watched the same games. Hayward looked lost and was burnt frequently when outside. Randall and Rollins looked much better in comparison their first year with the team.

I wouldn't say great, but he's definitely better and still opportunistic. It helps that San Diego has a dominating pass rush - don't forget that. It's not such a surprise he has succeeded when you consider the success of Hyde, and in the past the resurgence of Woodson and Sharper upon leaving our franchise. I don't think we do well at all coaching the secondary.
