I'll be mildly concerned if he picks 2 WR's in the first two rounds. I'm hoping he doesn't do that unless he picks up a couple of additional top 90 picks.
The class is deep enough that as many as 17-18 WR could go before Saturday.
Im not opposed to getting 1 upper echelon Day 1 selection(#22or#28) and then using a 3-4th rounder in some capacity for that deep threat or WR compliment to our earlier pick.

Although if we go that route I’d like to add a Pass catching TE.
We don’t know how soon Tonyan is 100% and even if he is, I like the option of having a 2nd TE that is formidable at receiving. I think having that consistency at TE would pay dividends, both short term and long term

Stokes starting falling off many first rounds for some as Greg Newsome starting shooting up most. Originally early on the concensus was Caleb Farley, Patrick Surtain, Jaycee Horn and Stokes were the "best 4" and then Newsome climbed into that realm and some starting mocking Newsome before Stokes and even Horn some also loved Samuel late too. Joe Marino was one of the pundits I remember being the highest on Stokes but that is about as far as my memory goes with it.

I know I early on had Farley, Surtain and Horn as for sure not reaching us and then I assumed one of Stokes, Samuel or Newsome might reach us maybe.
I remember there being a lot of talk about us drafting Newesome. And also Asante.

I'd much rather get one WR and Gutekunst's choice of best TE on the board in the first 4 picks and still get two defenders in the first two rounds. That would be a very good start imo.

Mocking the mocks. I like it. Mocks are meaningless.
Oh I wouldn’t go quite that far. I’m no mock specialist. Yet I think Mocks are a great exercise to keep us mentally sharp on the players coming into the draft.

Although they aren’t for everyone. Crossword puzzles seem like a menial task to some, I just finished one and I loved it!

Neither are Crossword puzzles as they seem like a menial task to some, I just finished one and I loved it!

My only issue on your 1st list is Dean. I also fear that Jets #10, WSH #11, HOU #13, N.O. 16 or 19, PIT #20 (I hope they go QB ) N.E. #21 could go WR in round 1.
Won’t argue, if I had to do it again I would put Dean in the second list

They’ve been interviewing TE pretty readily. If they were trading for Waller that doesn’t make sense as he would make it virtually a non-need. We’d have Waller, Tonyan, Deguara and Marcedes. That’s a stocked shelf.

Unless they were just kicking the tires on Waller which is nothing more than due diligence or using a backup plan.

I don't think Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean, or Jermaine Johnson are absolute locks to go top 15. Heck, I don't think Garrett Wilson is a lock to go top 15 either. The only guy with that build/profile to go that early in my memory is Devonta Smith last year, and Devonta was waaaaaay more productive than Wilson.

Actually, I don't think any of the receivers are locks to go before 22, but the one that feels least likely is actually Jameson Williams IMO. Those gamebreakers always seem to go higher than expected, like Waddle leapfrogging Devonta last year.

So the only truly out of reach guys, to me, are:
1. Hutchinson
2. Thibodeux
3. Neal
4. Icky
5. Hamilton
6. Stingley
7. Gardner
8. Walker
I don’t believe any of those I have listed in that first list will be available at 22, however if I made a new list, I would remove Dean. We will see how many of those players excluding Dean, are on the board at 22 - that’s what makes this fun
