Well ... Given how the league pans out these days I don't think you can really put stock in Vegas's favorites in week 1 anyway. My thoughts are we probably aren't going to know a whole lot yet about either team at least until several weeks down the road. These days this league seems to take a little while to sift out the contenders from the pretenders.

It's kinda the same with our WR group. I've been pretty critical about what we have currently on the roster, and like most other posters here, I don't really get the sense that they've improved over last year or the year before. But still gotta play these games for a reason and see if the coming games will have Rodgers and LaFleur using good scheming to get production out of them.

Nevertheless, a very important game. Would like to get off to a good divisional start.

Am I the only one that's not really too concerned about this game? Like seriously I really don't understand why people are so high on The Vikings after all they've lost. They don't have a the better receiving corp, I say we edge them out in overall running backs, quarterback is a given, Oline I think we are better hands down, as well as our secondary. Sure their defensive front is tough, but again I don't see why that should make them the favorites to win the game. And tbh I expect a blowout victory this week. Rodgers begins to remind everyone why he's still the bad man.

Divisional games in the North can be tough no matter the record or talent. Minihaha did just come up with a very good pass rusher. No game is in the bag before it starts. Especially a division game. People might think we were lucky last year. The Vegas odds are just where the dividing line is. The gamblers normally make the line.

These games are going to be pretty unpredictable. Teams change a lot from year to year even with mostly the same players. Some up, some down, some steady. The first month is usually pretty wild anyway with poor quality football being played and some teams looking great and some terrible and there are always a handful that flip positions every year after that first month. I know they're all on the same page this year, but I expect the norm to the start of the season to be amplified even more this year. and then the injuries will start.

I think we’ll win 24-13. I think we are in a much better position right now than Minnesota.

I seem to recall that being a toss up--being the home team makes you the 3 point favorite by default.
Yeah. -2.5 to -3 for the Vikings. Two pretty evenly matched teams seems fair in this low information start to the season. I have little in the way of expectations one way or the other for this uber-scrimmage. It's a week to see what's what.

We're getting the game live in the Buffalo/Niagara region, which is nice in not having to wait for the Game Pass replay..

Beginning of the year, defenses are always ahead of offenses and that's going to be even more true this season since there were no preseason games. I fully expect the Vikings dline to cause a lot of havoc since the right side of the Packers' oline is going to be, uhm, unique in week 1. I also fully expect the Smiths and Clark to have a field day with the Vikings oline. I'm kind of expecting this game to come down to which team makes the costliest mistake (blown coverage, PI, etc.).

I fully expect us to run at will over the left side and get a lot of slants and passes in the flat exposing their CB’s.

He is still one of my favorite Packers. Maybe because I don't pay much attention to the Soap Operas. But I loved him as a Packer and he did a great job for us coming from little Western Michigan.

his post packer comments always reminded me of an ex girlfriend convincing herself she was more happy with the new guy. I can forgive that, we've mostly all been there at one point or another. not always as the ex girlfriend, but an ex in general. The comments after that I think were made for television moments. Created to create controversy and gain viewers. I don't expect to see that in the broadcast booth. He's otherwise always struck me as a heck of a WR and a pretty good guy. Smart too.

Before his falling out, yes he did do a damn good job. Having said that, as a talking head though, I've not been too fond of what he has to say.

I'll say this though.... If his bias comes out in the commentary, I had better never hear another complaint about Buck and Aikman and that made up hoax about their anti Packer bias ever again. It's fine to say they get too monotonous and don't offer a whole lot of fresh material, but no bias. Fans here just make that up.

I'd not really call Lane a "backup" if he hadn't gotten hurt last year Jenkins may very well still be a relatively unknown commodity.

Jenkins was outplaying Taylor before Taylor's injury. No way Jenkins would be an unknown commodity, he would have become the starter even if Taylor had stayed healthy.

Not sure if this has been posted but Danielle Hunter went to ir. Huge loss. Their defensive line now is missing hunter, Griffen and Joseph from last year.

Big loss, but I’m worried about injuries more so than usual this year early on.

With the injury to hunter and all the rookies and young guys who didn't get a preseason I think we are catching the Vikings at the right time. Vikings are replacing 1 dt, 2 de, 2 starting cb and a nickle cb. 5 starters and first defensive player in. Offense has very few excuses this week

Rewatched the December game from last year. The Packers made many offensive mistakes - fumbles, INT, etc. The defense absolutely destroyed the LOS. Counted over 5 sacks and an INT. To win on Sunday, the packers need to get to Kirk Cousins and give Dalvin Cook nothing. No Diggs will hurt this offense. Bisi Johnson and Thielen are not enough. If Justin Jefferson is the player I think he is, Diggs will be replaced in time. But week 1 in his rookie season Jefferson will not be a factor. No Eversen Griffen and Danielle Hunter is going to hurt the Vikes, but Ngakoue is a monster. The Packers should win this game, as long as they play smart football.

I've lost a huge amount of respect for Greg when he said all those things after he left The Packers and joined The Vikings. Ever since then guys like Skip and Colin took what he said and ran with it. It was a ***** move on his part and if he had issues with Rodgers, he should've addressed it with him. Nevertheless he's gotten better over the years in regards to his feedback in regards to The Packers, and he's been objective for the most part. I still don't care for him in the slightest though. He was a great receiver during his times here but thought he was worth more than he actually was and it bit him in the butt in the long run.

I am shocked anyone would say MVS and St Brown are going to burn anyone, and Lazard is going to take a back seat. Lazard to me IS the breakout player if there is one. St Brown had a terrible injury and MVS is in show me status, due to a terrible showing last season. RT is a concern but Taylor is a back up on any nfl roster other than here. Jenkins is a load and a half. Taylor takes a seat to Jenkins, and its not even close.
