Yup I've reviewed Gute's drafts quite a few times, there is a thread even somewhere.

But let's think of this in context....5 years is a long time truthfully player wise...let's look at some of the best teams this year and see where they are before judging Gute:

Eagles
2018 - drafted 5 / 4 on team still
2019 - drafted 5 / 0 on team still
2020 - drafted 10 / 4 on team still
2021 - drafted 9 / 7 on team still
15 since 2018 still there

Chiefs
2018 - drafted 6 / 1 on team still
2019 - drafted 6 / 2 on team now, but Hardman wasn't and just rejoined last week
2020 - drafted 6 / 5 on team still
2021 - drafted 6 / 4 on team still
12 since 2018 still there

Niners
2018 - 9 drafted / 1 on team still
2019 - 8 drafted / 2 on team still
2020 - 5 drafted / All 5 on team still
2021 - 8 drafted / 6 on team still
14 since 2018 still there

Dolphins
2018 - 8 drafted / 3 on team still
2019 - 6 drafted / 2 on team still
2020 - 11 drafted / 6 on team still
2021 - 7 drafted / 4 on team still
15 since 2018 still there.

Ravens
2018 - 12 drafted / 2 on team still
2019 - 8 drafted / 1 on team still
2020 - 10 drafted / 7 on team still
2021 - 8 drafted / 5 on team still
15 since 2018 still there

All that and Gute is at:
2018 - 11 drafted / 1 on team still
2019 - 8 drafted / 3 on team still
2020 - 9 drafted / 4 on team still
2021 - 9 drafted / 5 on team still
13 since 2018 still there

Now the one thing that truly should also be considered is what rounds each of these picks were....beyond round 3 or so it is VERY hard to expect 5 year careers out of 2018 Day 3 guys and I would bet that claim is quite valid across the league for teams to still have many of their 2018 guys.
I don't disagree with your post at all. The average career in the NFL is 3.3 years. I also thought of this whilst writing. That is why I added the below comment.
What should be feeding our team with good players from the draft just isn't.
The Packers are not drafting good players.

That tells you that Robinson's knowledge and veteran leadership couldn't overshadow how bad of a RB he has become. A rookie with no experience is a better option...

That happens to all of us at some point!

On Tuesday when I was an election judge, I was talking to the facilities guy. He is in his mid-80s and was boasting about how he was still pitching for the townball club at 61yrs old. I'm always amazed by the folks who have the Jerry Rice or Darrell Green ability to play sports at a high level well past the peak of the average player.

The body always fails in one way or another.

#Packers claim CB Kyu Blu Kelly off waivers from the Seattle Seahawks

Originally drafted by the Ravens in the 5th round (#157) of the 2023 draft.

Played in 5 games for the Seahawks all on special teams (38 snaps).

IMO. I would like to see them bring in RB Michael Carter for a look. IMO.
Doesn't appear that the Packers put a waiver claim in on Carter. They wouldn't have gotten him if they did, the Cardinals were ahead of them and got him.

In addition to the Cardinals, the Buccaneers and Commanders put a claim in on RB Michael Carter, per source.

Good stuff.
Id still like to see more of Emmanuel Wilson. We could have our RB2 already on our Roster for next season.

With AJ1's inflated contract and AJ2's expiring contract, we may need to find RB1 and RB2 for next season.
With a better blocking OL can plug in a decent college RB & be productive. Need to get high-end OT, RG, WR1 & S in the draft, & maybe spend some cap on FA's at those positions, as well.

Not too surprised about Leavitt getting fired. Didn't shine and cost 30 yards on the opening kick yesterday.

Not too surprised either. Taylor knows our playbook to some degree. And right now we need that desperately.

Leavitt was released to make room for Taylor. LB Christian Young was released from PS to make room for RB James Robinson.

With Zayne healthy Leavitt became more expendable.

As I stated last week. I really wish they could have gotten Michael Carter into the building.
