True on DL being sound across Day2. It’s the first lesson I learned across multiple interactive Mocks, when I choose at DL in Day1 I am forced to pass at a spectacular value rounds 2-4.

Also on WR, I’m convince Gute was going WR in the 2022 draft. Unfortunately everyone else was also. If you recall there were 6 WR’s chosen in the first 18 selections of Round1, which I think broke some record, if I remember correctly.
Gluten knew he missed..but it wasn’t his fault it’s just that teams needed WR and there was supply and it was like Piranha ville at WR. The next best option? Get the best “2nd tier” WR Wideout and that’s why we saw a pair of 2nd rounders packaged and traded with an intra division team, which just showed the hard emphasis there. Then a continuation with Doubs and Toure also.

I don’t think we’re immune at WR anymore. In years past our D was really our weak link. Now our D ranked #6 scoring. The best ranking by far in 14 years. Pettine cracked top 9 one season but 2024 felt different. Markedly Better. We need some juice on O. I think if Golden is there I’d pop him in that O without hesitation.

FTR Gute and Co saw Watson as a first rounder, and tried but couldn't get a deal done getting back into the first.

NC State OT Anthony Belton in for a Top 30. Big dude, 6'6" 330-340 lbs, nickname is "Escalade". Bigger frame than a typical Packers OL. Could go in Rd 3, but possibly early on Day 3.

Well the only thing I’ll say is while that might be true, we had 2 picks in RD1 we passed on Watson twice. So it had to be a late RD1 grade because we selected Wyatt at #28.
Watson is a unique player though. Elite RAS but lower production from an FCS program. It’s a hard one to predict, either he’s the next coming of DK Metcalf Turbo graded at Top 1/2 Round 1 if you hit jackpot or …
… well … he’s just Christian Watson more a mid Day2 value.

Had his health been better he probably is in that Top 25 graded player. He’s just fragile as thin glass

Everyone has heard me bang the Belton drum, however he is just a tick outside normal Packer thresholds so having him in makes a LOT of sense. There is a ton to like about him, especially in the run game.

He currently is at 95 on consensus. He is 76 on mine.

He is a mauler with those massive mitts in the run game and while he isn't explosive as we normally go for he is likely a tackle only prospect, but has the athletic profile to possibly run guard if needed. Despite being built like a run blocker, believe it or not he graded out a lot better at pass pro, so I'm telling you there is a lot to like projection wise here.

He could be the perfect tackle prospect say if Walker beats Morgan and Morgan starts at RG...let Belton focus his rookie year backing up Walker and 2026 he could be the main one up for LT.

I don’t believe him. I mean I believe him but I’m also smart enough to know we all lie daily. Heck we lie that we don’t lie and convince ourselves it’s true! I’m the biggest offender why do you think I drop to my knees every morning!! The last thing I do every day is lie! Down :whistling:
Sometimes I even lie awake at night

Cincinnati OT John Williams is coming in for a Top 30. Started 24 games a LT over the last 2 years, considered a day 3 option

Williams fits the Packer type to a T....but I struggled more with him as I like a guy capable of maybe going T or G - I see John as a guard purely give his cone time especially, but dear lord folks talk about mittens he has 11 inch hands and it is on display, those paddles steer people at times. His mittens arms and wingspan all say tackle but his movement skills scream guard - he could be a freaking dynamite guard with those characteristics. If we can manage to nab him in Day3 I'd love it but I believe you'll need to grab him by end of fourth or miss out.

Everything I read talked about a probable move to Guard, but yeah, with almost a 34 inch arms length, and those massive hands. Could be a Swing Tackle with position versatility at Guard, for sure.

Ohio St DT Tyleik Williams in for a Top 30... one of my favorite DT's in the Draft. Like Kenneth Grant, he's a big Run Stuffing DT that could take over TJ Slaton's role. Could go Late 1st, but most likely an early to mid 2nd Rd option. If we trade to the end of the 1st I'm good with a 1st Rd selection.

He fits our normal MO measurable

Grant not so much his measurements just don’t line up with what we normally look for

Now before I say what I'm about to - I am also a big fan of Tyleik and would embrace him coming to Green Bay...but he has not been asked to run A gap or be that center plug ever or rarely at all at Ohio State.

In the last three years he played A gap snaps 34 times which is 2.2% of his snaps. He lived in the B Gap 69.7% and 25.8% over tackle.

I actually kinda wonder if part of this visit is to get a feel of his capability to provide that Slaton NT type plug play or not.

I'm confused I'd actually say the other way if anything but they're quite similar really

Height/Weight/Hands nearly identical
Williams 6027 Height and 334lbs and 10.25 hands
Grant is 6035 and 331lbs and 10.13 hands

Williams 1.74u 10 yard split
Grant 1.72 10 yard split

Grant did three cone and came in at 7.69 which is very good for his size
Williams hasn't appeared to do it

Grant has 33.5 arms vs Williams with 32 (very short for his size and position)

Below is the list of Top 30 visits Green Bay had in 2024. The Packers drafted 3, signed 1 as an UDFA right after the draft, and then added one player during the season to the Practice Squad.

QB Gavin Hardison (UTEP)
RB Ray Davis (Kentucky)
WR Xavier Legette (South Carolina)
WR Jermaine Burton (Alabama)
OL Zak Zinter (Michigan)
OT Tyler Guyton (Oklahoma)
OT Amarius Mims (Georgia)
OT Donovan Jennings (USF) (UDFA)
OT Kiran Amegadjie (Yale)
OG Layden Robinson (Texas A&M)
OL Giovanni Manu (UBC)
CB Kool-Aid McKinstry (Alabama)
CB Jarrian Jones (FSU)
CB Ja'Quan Sheppard (Maryland)
CB Omar Brown (Nebraska) (Signed mid season)
CB Chris Edmonds (Arizona State)
S Dell Pettus (Troy)
S Akeem Dent (Florida State)
S Kiton Oladapo (Oregon St) (5th Rd)
S Jaylon Carlies (Missouri)
LB Ty'Ron Hopper (Missouri) (3rd Rd)
LB Edgerrin Cooper (Texas A&M) (2nd Rd)

LB Trevin Wallace (Kentucky)
EDGE Austin Booker (Kansas)
EDGE Marshawn Kneeland (Western Michigan)
DL Michael Hall (Ohio State)
DT Maason Smith (LSU)
DT Khristian Boyd (UNI)

Interesting to go back and look at some of these players a year later. Kool-Aid McKinstry was a guy I really wanted in the 1st Rd. I think OL is interesting, as they brought in the most guys in this position group (7 players), and of those 7, the only guy that became a Packer was signed as an UDFA. In contrast, they brought in 3 LB's, and drafted 2 by the 3rd Rd.

Just came across this, Isaiah Bond is one of the Top 30 visits for the Packers.

Former Texas Longhorns wide receiver Isaiah Bond has recently encountered legal trouble ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft. According to a report by Zach Dimmitt of Sports Illustrated, Bond turned himself in to the Frisco Police Department in the Dallas-Fort Worth area on the morning of Thursday, April 10, 2025, due to an outstanding warrant for ****** assault. The report indicates that Bond was able to post bond and was subsequently released from custody.

On a brighter note.... The Packers are hosting Tulane CB Micah Robinson on a Top 30 visit. Coming in at 6'0" 184 Lbs. Ran a 4.38 40 at his Pro Day. He's been rising up the rankings as of late, and is now considered a possible late Day 3 selection instead of an UDFA.

I had a 7th on him. Solid Day3 addition if we wanted.
