Thanks. Where do you think he gets drafted?
Think, it is gonna depend on medicals, if that all checks out I would be baffled to see him not go top50/55 or so. With his top end being like pick 20 or se

EDGE Mykel Williams is a Top 30 visit. Doing their due diligence with the top EDGE prospects.

Thanks. He's one guy I'm following because of the wide range where he could be drafted, 15/20 to 55/60. You have him ranked #5, so the guy is doing something right.

My best guess as to what Gluten does at #23 - if a WR or CB drops, he'll jump that. Yeah Edge/DL is also a need but this draft is really deep at those positions, with plenty of talent still available in rounds 2 and 3. That's not the case for WR and CB, where the talent drops off beyond round 1 (beyond the first 10-15 picks, really).

It also wouldn't surprise me if Gluten trades back to get more picks. I think he has 7, maybe 8 - and 10 seems more like his number.

As always, it will be fun to watch.

I don’t have Shavon at #5 think you mixed up the discussion on medicals with the wrong person.

Do you take him at #23, then?

He's got 8, one in every round plus a comp pick in the 7th. But I, too, think it's probable that he drops back toward the bottom of the round for a couple more Day Threes. He loves his middle-round picks.

If Shavon medicals which I personally don’t have access to check out, and I’m Gute I’d have no issue with that position. CB is one of those positional value groups that pushes folks up like QB and edge usually

Yeah I was looking at Barron. I see you've got Shavon with the wide draft dispersion, depending on his medical evaluation.

Barron is healthy I think. In earlier mocks he was available at #23. His stock has gone up since then and it seems unlikely he'll be around at #23.

Ohio St WR Emeka Egbuka is going to be a Top 30 visit, also. That's 2 of the Top 3 WR's in this Draft class that are now Top 30 visits with the team.

I have a 5th on Cooper - his film is MUCH better than some guys I hear folks discussing for early Day3 sometimes IMO. He fits every single OL trait that GB seems to have found out there.

Every year folks have asked who are some Day3 Tackle prospects to keep eye on...for me this year I'll give a few here...Cooper is one for sure, Jack Nelson, Caleb Rogers and Carson Vinson (he may sneak into third round, but consensus on him is SPREAD BIG TIME).

Bryce Cabledue is also another I'm actually doing a deep dive on...he's the counter part to Logan Brown there at Kansas

I read somewhere yesterday that we are meeting with far more WRs than any other position group. I suspect that may mean Gute and his staff are hoping to spot a player who'd be a mid-round steal.

Fast and furious today.... Ohio St OT Josh Simmons is also coming for a Top 30. One of a few 1st Rd possibilities, if the Packers choose to go back to back years with an OLineman in the 1st Rd.

He's gonna take a WR somewhere. I know it defies past practice, but it could be 1st round. I just have a feeling, not based on anything concrete - although your intel that they are seeing more WR on visits than other position groups, including two of the consensus round 1 WRs, tells me if the right player is there at #23, Gluten will move.

Now that can be said of any position player with a high grade who drops to #23. What I don't see is a trade up to get someone. Too costly in a year where there are few sure-thing players.

Given the wealth of DL and Edge players in this draft, Gluten can wait until rounds 2 and 3 to make picks at those positions. It's hard to tell but it's fun to speculate.

I've read (somewhere) that Isaiah Bond could be a sleeper at WR. What other intel, if any, do you have on him, like height and weight, 40 time? If you have taken a look at him what are your thoughts? Thanks.

He's not a typical Packer....short and slender...I'm shocked they had him in honestly.
5'10" 180lbs
4.41 guy with 8.5 hands and 30.5 inch arms

Thanks for the details. Ugh, not the Packer type at all, not really the NFL type. One less prospect to watch. And yeah, why would they seemingly waste a visit on a guy like this.

So couple reasons could exist. Bond is likely going to work out of the slot a lot, has shown ability with vision and could potentially be that motion man even...like Reed he is deadly when the ball is in his hand - issue is a lot of his production was out of manufactured touches in College. Bond would make sense if he makes it to the third and we haven't drafted any WR, especially if the team sees Reed going outside more this year.

I'm out on him, but that's the only vein of thought that would make it make sense...I still wouldn't be a fan but that would be the logic I'd guess driving the decision.

True on DL being sound across Day2. It’s the first lesson I learned across multiple interactive Mocks, when I choose at DL in Day1 I am forced to pass at a spectacular value rounds 2-4.

Also on WR, I’m convince Gute was going WR in the 2022 draft. Unfortunately everyone else was also. If you recall there were 6 WR’s chosen in the first 18 selections of Round1, which I think broke some record, if I remember correctly.
Gluten knew he missed..but it wasn’t his fault it’s just that teams needed WR and there was supply and it was like Piranha ville at WR. The next best option? Get the best “2nd tier” WR Wideout and that’s why we saw a pair of 2nd rounders packaged and traded with an intra division team, which just showed the hard emphasis there. Then a continuation with Doubs and Toure also.

I don’t think we’re immune at WR anymore. In years past our D was really our weak link. Now our D ranked #6 scoring. The best ranking by far in 14 years. Pettine cracked top 9 one season but 2024 felt different. Markedly Better. We need some juice on O. I think if Golden is there I’d pop him in that O without hesitation.
