Friends of ours have a son who is an amazing Chef. He's considered one of the best when it comes to creating new and exciting dishes. In fact, over the last 5 years, his stock has risen so much that he is the Executive Chef for a huge Super Bowl Party being held in New Orleans for the stars of the halftime show, and other dignitaries. It's a real extravaganza of food and culture in what he's presenting. He's a real hands-on Chef. He gets his hands dirty with everyone else.

I'm anxious to find out what new and innovative creations he's come up with to serve that wide variety of people who will be in attendance. This could open the door for him to end up with some amazing future gigs.

How did the kid do?

I did SB party like every year in my brother's party cave. Heated 4 stall garage with about 7 TVs. Plenty of party type food and the best part is everyone brings their Christmas deserts leftovers. Cookies, candies, fudges pies, etc. 2 or 3 sheepshead tables going. With enough people there are 6 people playing 5-handed with dealer sits which is food run or bathroom break. Enough young legs and non-playing spouses to brave going out to the snowbanks to keep the beer supplied.

It went over great for him. He had a chance to meet several people in the entertainment industry who asked him for his card who asked if he would consider doing special gigs for them in the future. It ended with him being told by the person doing the organizing that he was number one on his call list if he had any future events going down in New Orleans.

They're really proud of him. Now he's taking a couple of weeks off and has flown out to our friends place in Estes Park, CO. Like my friend said, he earned it after the long hours of planning and prep that went into something as huge as that was in New Orleans.
