Look I loved the action in Free Agency we did, and man did it play out in a BIG way last year...however nearly halfway through this season WTH????

Preston Smith
2019 Season - Playing on 84% of the snaps had 12 Sacks - 56 Tackles (36 solo)
2020 Presently - Playing on 83.4% of the snaps has .5 sacks - 15 tackles (11 solo)
2020 "rough" Projection - 2 Sacks and 34 Tackles....

Za'Darius Smith
2019 Season - Playing on 84.3% of snaps had 13.5 Sacks - 55 Tackles (41 solo)
2020 Season - Playing on 85.5% of snaps has 6 Sacks - 26 Tackles (17 solo)
2020 "rough" projection - 12.5 Sacks and 55 Tackles

Honestly, Z is having a very similar year.....but Preston what in the world? The tackles concern me more than the sacks honestly.....do we know if he is healthy?

Preston has been straight up bad.

I think he is playing himself into a requested restructure or cut. It is a sizable dead hit of like $8M but seriously...we cannot have a guy making what he is not doing more.

Z isn't touchable till after 2021 no matter how bad he plays....which in all honesty isn't the case anyways presently.

if this continues, he's going to be straight up cut and rightly so. I'm not impressed with the effort of many of these guys this year. There is zero reason to give him more money in a restructure for this level of play.

Both Smith’s have regressed, Preston a lot more.

The CB’s have played very well. The Safeties have regressed. The ILB’s are pretty similar. The iDL has been worse.

Sorry I disagree with the ILB regressing similar to the safeties. I think this year we at worst are just as good, BUT the future looks awesome there.

Should have clarified that further. I think the ILB play is similar to last year. I think the safety play is worse than last year.

Yup Amos is another one underplaying his contract I believe.
I’m not sure I agree with that... I’d have to carefully review game tape... which I don’t care enough to do, but it seems to me that Amos is one of the few actually making plays out there.

Its a fair statement you're making. He has I'd say averaged one notable or big play a game...I however have seen some issues on the backside from him more than I did last year IMO.

Jaylon Smith released by Dallas!! Add him to our Smith Bros. LB corps? Dallas is already paying him $7.2Mil this year so wouldn't cost too much.

Who knows. He might still want a big contract in addition to what he is getting. I guess it is worth looking into though. He may be willing to sign for minimum if its for a team he really wants to play for.

Z Dog is now a Lion. Browns got a measly 5th and 6th in exchange for Smith and a 7th.

Will Preston Smith be a Packer after today?

Despite all the "rumors" (clickbait articles), I say he will be.

I just don't see Preston going anywhere while we believe we can contend. Now off season I could see it (understand it) but even then I don't personally.

I believe we will still be adding not subtracting. If Wicks didn't have his drop issues, his separation ability I strongly believe he could have been flipped into someone without giving up equity pick wise but I don't think anyone would bite now.

I still think GB has a decent chance of going deep in the playoffs. That game was a big wake up call that we need significant “cleanup” internally. Meaning we need to work on improving in several areas and I’m including everyone from Top down.

Would’ve been nice to see us not get complacent. If we were 3-6 again then I get it. Skip FA. 6-3 gives us a couple of unexpected losses and still a chance to make playoffs. I’m actually surprised Gutey hasn’t made a move it’s needed imo.
Yes Jordan needs to clean up some stuff, but he also needs 1 more veteran target in the Passing game unless they think Musgrave might be can be used in some capacity. It’s not a crucial need, but it’s become my 2nd or 3rd personal choice to upgrade. Grab a Veteran weapon for the Pass game.

Detroit adding Z Smith made them better. We can’t expect to just sit pat and wallow in our woes. I’d get 1 substantial Defender and poke around for a known Veteran quantity to inject into the Offense if reasonable. Just my opinion. This current roster won’t be enough anymore. As they say “Close but no cigar”

IMO a “move” or “non move” is as much psychological as it is a tangible improvement. Detroit is better and is still improving and if we think we can be spectators we’ll be disappointed in the end. Gute tey.. GO get us someone to be excited about. Rejuvenate this team and make our Alma Mater proud. UWL baby!

But because he is what he is right now; I wish we would play Heath instead. He catches the ball.

Different convo but I don't disagree. It appears Bo is above Heath to the staff however and I suspect that is a reason he got so many snaps last week.

Agree. I wish I would have bookmarked that article. The title of it was something like "Packer Pro Bowler likely plays his last game for the Packers".....good lord....can you get anymore clickbaity? Of course....I clicked on it....

EDIT: Found it: I wanted to link it, but that would just give this guy more clicks. So instead, I attached a pic of the article.
