I think he is the next in line in New England so I don’t think he is in play, but I don’t get why many don’t like McDaniels.

I really want to hire the next coach as soon as possible so the endless rumors about McCarthy and Rodgers will end. No one knows exactly what went down. Unnamed sources say this or that and people buy into it all. I miss the days where sources seemed to matter. We will never know what happened with McCarthy and Rodgers. We wont know who is most at fault for the flow of the offense. Here is what we know. McCarthy is no longer the coach. Rodgers is still our qb. Rodgers had a down year. We dont know how much of that was poor play, poor play calling, poor audibles, injury, poor supporting cast. Probably some combination of each. I get the desire to speculate because it kills time and radio shows need something to talk about.

Here is what I know. Hopefully we get the right new coach. Hopefully we get a few more impact players on the roster. Hopefully the team doesnt repeatedly shoot itself in the foot - Ty Mont fumble, Crosby missed fgs, Rodgers ball in the dirt, etc. And hopefully Rodgers plays better. Hopefully the offense looks cohesive. i hope new coach can help with a few of those things.

1) His first HC tenure was a dramatic failure.

2) Belichick's coaching tree historically stinks.

3) The Patriots offense was great with him and without him.

4) He committed to Indy to the point that they hired his choice for DC and then backed out on them at the last moment.

That would be why many don't like him.

Belichick sucked in Cleveland his first stint too. I think he was promised first shot replacing BB. I am willing to take a chance.

That's fine, but you said you didn't understand why others don't like him.

Sometimes people ask questions that they really don't want the truthful answer to. Like a GF/Wife saying "Does my *** look big in these pants?"

Nelson didn't retire. Yesterday he had a pretty decent game against the Chiefs. He caught 10 of 11 targets for 97 yards.
Maybe Jordy gets cut next yr and we get him cheap like it couldn’t hurt be just like James Jones going to Oakland lol

HC: Bruce Arians
OC: Freddie Kitchens
DC: Keep Pettine OR (if Arians prefers not to) Todd Bowles
Arians would be a good short term fix... but next to zero chance they Sign him plus he said he would only coach the brown

You don’t like him because he didn’t do well the first time around or you don’t like him because he bailed on the Colts after being offered the HC job when BB quits?

I am fine with the question and any answers. I have no idea what your response is in reference to. If you want to hear your *** is fat, I will say yes, even though I have never looked at your ***. And no clue what this even means to this discussion.

Simple. Sometimes people ask a question (Why don't people like McDaniels?), someone answers them to the best of their ability and then the person asking the question rebukes their answer with a debate.

Cuz he has an abysmal HC track record and ran Denver into the ground worse than Vance Joseph. Nuff said, he has zero ability to succeed outside of Bellichek's roof.

Yeah, I saw the timeline. Doesn't change what I said. Van Pelt had declined his extension and expected to find work as an OC. Maybe McCarthy also expected him to find work as an OC. After all, he was QB coach to who many considered the best in the league. Maybe McCarthy offered the job to his buddy, assuming Van Pelt would find employment (which he did, although not getting the better position he was looking for).
The only thing I could say in reponse to repeat what I already said or hit the Big Red X. I will do neither.

I was driving when it was on and lost AM coverage, hate when that happens. I will have to go watch it, thanks for listing the site that it is on.

Rodgers reaction to MM being fired:

just watched.... he certainly said all the right things. It was also interesting that he mentioned that his parents were in town for his birthday.... Makes me think that perhaps we should stop paying much attention to all the gossip regarding his family etc...

Ha, I can't remember if it was a Foster's commercial or what, late 90's early 2000's and it went something like this, "Honey, do these jeans my my butt look big?" husband proclaims, "no, it's your ***" :)

From what I've read, many players say he's a "screamer without substance" type of coach. He has the brains but not the team-building qualities necessary for long-term success.

No freaking way. He walked away once because of the stress and affect on health and I’m sure it’s the reason this time too. It’s affected how he coaches and acts. Going to the NFL isn’t going to make it better.
