Must be a road game. Packers won't give up a home game (Preseason & regular season) whatsoever. Murphy has been pretty clear that the team is too important to the Financial success of the city.

That said, I think a road game in Regina would be great.

I totally agree since it was the Raiders staff that was here looking around.

Nothing finalized yet on this pre-season game in Canada, but I'm cool with it as long as it isn't the Shrine pre-season game. They mess with my Gold Package games and there will be trouble!

I am still not fully over losing one regular season game when our tickets were moved from County Stadium to Lambeau. Back in the day we got 3 regular season games and also the Shrine game. Now it's 2 regular season games and the Shrine.

It will for sure be a Raider home game.

meh. it's not that much of a disruption as long as it's not a Packers home game...which it isn't AND, more importantly, that it's not the final preseason game before the opener. traveling two weeks in a row wouldn't be ideal going into an already dicey opener. that said...it's exactly what i predict the nfl will do to us. lol

In all fairness to the OP...Mr. Munch.....seems like he broke this story on March 5th....way before me.....but I appreciate the shout out. :D

Thankfully, one of the Mods appears to have combined all of our ideas on the subject. :)

So a shout out to Mr. Munch and the Mods......

I only knew early as I work at a hotel here in Regina and the Raiders brass stayed here. If you come up to the game you can tailgate at my place.

A friend of mine is a massive Roughrider fan. He would die to be able to watch the Packers in Regina. He had mentioned yesterday that he had heard that it was no longer being considered in Regina... any word on that?

I don’t watch the CFL as it is pure unadulterated bush league but out of all that the Riders and their fans are the worst of the worst.
Rider fans hate 3 things:
1)Facts
2)Stats
3)Reality

It’s the Riders that are making it difficult to play in the stadium here as they think it’s their own stadium but the Provincial Government put up most of the money to build it so it belongs to the people. The Mayor of Regina has stepped in and they are still talking about it as of today. I don’t hold hope that it will happen here as this stadium only seats 33,000.

According to reports the game will either be played in Regina or Winnipeg.

I'd be totally cool with a NFL team in Canada. What I am against is a NFL team in London or Mexico.

Hope this pre-season game gets finalized. I think both stadiums being considered have FieldTurf so we don't have to worry about playing in a pasture like in London.

Just for clarity a Rough Rider is a ****** but the Rough Riders were a CFL team from Ottawa and the Roughriders are from Saskatchewan. Yes 2 teams with similar names playing in a league at the same time.

There is some great material in there for a good comedy bit!

calling the pitch at wembley a pasture is a bit much, especially when you consider how bad lambeau can get at times. i'm scottish, so like nothing more than dissing anything english

the new spurs stadium where most of the london games are to be held, iirc, will have a devoted artificial surface for NFL games, and i heard recently that there is talk of possibly asking for a superbowl game there, that would be a no from me, i just hope we get a packers game over here sometime, it sucks they're the only team to have never played/been scheduled for a london game

The Lambeau Turf is pristine year round now. It is Kentucky Blue Grass mixed with SIS Grass which are sythentic fibers that are intended to provide stabilization and drainage over the course of a long season.

I am not trying to "diss" anyone. I was merely stating a fact that the Wembley turf is a cow pasture grade.

I welcome with open arms NFL fans from around the world. I will though fight any attempt to ever have a team in London or Mexico. There are many reasons I am against it and I do feel the NFL realizes it will never happen, but wants to keep hope alive over there as it's good for business.

As far as I know the NFL plans on playing two games at Wembley and another two at the new Spurs stadium, if they ever will be able to finish it.

Mosaic Stadium in Regina is not going to be the location for the possible game.

If it happens it looks like it will be in Winnipeg.
