Looks like the kind of guy you'd put at left end, either 3-4 or 4-3 under. Set a mean edge and hopefully collapse the pocket. Kick in to 3-technique in nickel, if he doesn't have the bend to be a pure edge-rusher.

The thing that kills me is he was announced as a LB. So now we're taking a DE and converting him to a LB. I'm hoping ILB and not OLB.

My process is if you don't produce in college I'm not interested; and Gary despite a stellar defense and defensive coach in Harbaugh, was just meh there.

This is why while I've been trying to give Gute a fair shake, he's been looking almost worse than Ted Thompson so far with his draft moves.

• Rush plan is somewhat basic at this stage of development
