That's right, minus points! I love those skits!
The one where they're going to New York to play the Giants is one of da best!!!!! They call NY a rat infested sewer of a city and a whole bunch of other really hard-core slams. It's hilarious.
In the end, I think the end of arguing whether or not 12 inch tall bears could beat the Giants and so they start doing scores of mini Bears 110 Giants 8.
Then the last guy asked "is Ditka life-size or his Ditka a mini Ditka?"
The other answers "oh the coach is full size. You could never make a mini Ditka......can't be done!!!" (as if having a team of 12 inch tall mini bears take on the Giants and win that's totally rational but a mini Ditka....forget about it)

Then another guy chimes in like "wait a minute wait wait a minute I thought coach was tiny Ditka.....so if he's life-size..tack on 37 more points!!!!!!!

Yeah it was amazing how funny and far out these skits were, and how long they lasted. And SNL plays to a national audience - I thought the novelty of mimicking the midwestern accent, along with ample the ample weight and beer guzzling actors, would be limited to one or two skits - but it was a regular feature. It was just a lot of fun to watch, still is!

Agreed. And Philly really didn't have a good game, but they didn't need much.

The fact Philly knew where Jacobs was gonna run makes his performance even more remarkable. But why MLF didn't have plays to bounce him outside is beyond me.

The whole team needs to play with the intensity of guys like Jacobs and McKinney. I watched the Washington game right after the Packers, and the difference in energy and confidence between Daniels and Love was remarkable.

Gluten needs to do more this offseason than rebuild the CB group. Acquiring OL depth, a legitimate #1 WR, Edge rusher(s), and DL talent all have to be dealt with.

Love might look more comfortable, and MLF's game plans may unfold a lot better, with more impact players on O. And it's inexcusable that when Jenkins went down, his only viable replacements were two, late-round rookie guards. Depth is an issue.

Well a loss is no fun for anyone. A lot can be learned though, and that's about the best lesson from the game.
To me the upcoming season is going to tell the story. How much did the injuries play into Love's playing? Can ML learn from learn from his strong misses on planning? If I'm not mistaken predictability was MM's downfall.

I thought Saleh was supposed to help the offense. Why didn't he tell ML that his game plan was old and predictable?

Right on both points. Something about Love's appearance just looked off all year. He didn't look confident, he rarely ventured outside the pocket, and he rarely ran. This is a change from what we say, especially in the last half of last season. He was injured in the first game in Brazil, and I suspect he was playing hurt all season.

And MLF is starting to act more and more like MM - specifically, play not to lose. Other than the game plans he devised for the Willis starts, there was little imagination. Even in the Philly game, some adjustment to the run strategy would be required given the power and athleticism of their DL. But nope - most times he ran Jacobs right into the box with predictable results.

Hopefully both things change. Personnel wise, Gluten has has a challenging task. The CB group needs a remake, the team needs more depth at OL (rookies don't make good substitutes), the Edge rush is absent for the most part, and last but not least, a real #1 WR is required and I don't think that guy is on the team now.

Another week like that and the Bears may interview him for the coaching job.
