Combine, Draft Day, Preseason, Trade here trade there doesn't mean a thing to me on who the packers get in camp.
My interest is in the first snap of the regular season game that tells me a lot.

All this hep about how good/bad we are at, who's playing in what position before the regular season is a waste of interest to me.

Come on Gute and the front office, just takes us to another Super Bowl.

So none of the threads here interest you? I wonder if a thread pointing out your ambivalence of other threads will generate interest.

I like your stance.

I'm all about the regular season and postseason.

I rarely watch the preseason; it's just mediocre football.

I do have interest in the draft and FA/Trade window, but ultimately, I also just want Gute to put together a Super Bowl winning team or get fired trying.

Does Howie Roseman have a protege ready for a GM opportunity?

Your threads here have nothing to do the way I feel about all the hep, trying to guess who's coming and who's going that's your choice to post here.

Hey, if you guys like trying to guess what/where/how the Packers will put
a team together, and as a fan that has no control over, have at it.

Well, real football games is where the rubber meets the road. I'm just hopeful that we make the tires and the road well. Obviously these decisions are important. But ultimately I do think about what I want them to do or if I can at least agree with what they did. And hate it when they don't do it right. Especially when it's a football philosophy thing. And I like watching guys play in the preseason. It's tough to compare apples to oranges sometimes though. Like who are they blocking against/rushing against or who's blocking for them. Hate it when coaches seem to already have their minds made up about a player. So yeah, I'm into The Pack but a lot is after the fact homework. And I'm interested.

This kind of reminds me of my little niece who game into the tv room to tell us during a game that she doesn't like to watch football. It's just a way to call attention to oneself. Otherwise they would have just stayed away.

The weird thing is you really can’t get any real or quantifiable measure of success in the first snap. I’d extend that to the 1st series, the 1st quarter, the first half or the first game.

Secondly it’s really not that inconceivable at all to hypothesize about building our team. Mostly because we really didn’t lose anyone that significant imo. So it doesn’t take a great deal of imagination to at least pick out the positional areas of strength and weaknesses.

What I like that flew under radar is out of the top 20 FA contracts the Packer doled out guaranteed $$ at the 2nd and 3rd lowest $number and were only $1M away from being the #1 and #3 lowest guaranteed $.

Couple that with GB parted with 1 player who contracted elsewhere for more than $3.5Mil. That was TJ Slaton. Now I liked Tederell, but in no way, shape or form is he irreplaceable either. Actually this Draft offers some very good iDL that can possibly even offer an upgrade.

Then we lost who? Eric Wilson? Ok he was actually one of my favorite signings, however he’s well past 30yrs old and climbing. He’s a very stable player, meaning high floor medium ceiling. Again, it’s not like we can’t find LB snaps or Teams snaps to fill his void.

At CB Eric Stokes was going to give you a placeholder at CB and not a very good one at that. Ive never seen a guy that be on the field so much without ever making a big play. he’d disappear out there. Very low echelon starter.

Josh Myers was the definition of pedestrian. Not terrible but absolutely in the lesser 50% of Centers. AJ Dillon didn’t even play last year.

It rounds out with Ballentine and Rochelle, both essentially Teams level players.

I have Our biggest loss as #9. Basically at best a WR2 level impact player.

So it’s more like Team Upgrading. We very possibly gain (without even blinking)
Luke Musgrave
Marshawn Lloyd
Jordan Morgan
Aaron Banks
Nate Hobbs
Mecole Hardman
.+
#23, #54,#87, #124, #160, #198 etc. etc.
That 2 Receiving targets. 2 starting level LT AND OG’s and then highly likely a bonafide RB2 and a versatile veteran CB. We haven’t even finished yet! It’s quite probable GB brings in 1 more veteran, lower level signing (<$5M) to put their stamp on another position group.

We haven’t even touched the draft and the only real quantifiable losses are at WR, some decent CB depth, a good rotational, off ball LB and an iDL. It’s effectively 95% the same team. So I’m not really equating with this whole business about waiting until the first snap to get a better feel.

So I think it’s totally normal for fans to be excited this year. For those of us that follow the Roster moves more closely? I think it’s not a stretch that this years final Roster has a very good chance of surpassing 2024. Last year wasn’t a bad roster, it was more we started out injury prone with our QB tearing a Ligament, our Day1 selection injuring his shoulder, our Day2 RB and TE having repeated setbacks
