After the last game of the Raiders' season last year, he made it a point to go around the locker room saying goodby to al the local media, and telling them how much he appreciated their professionalism. I heard that sraight from one of the Vegas beat reporters a couple of days after we signed him.

When have you ever heard of a player doing that? This is a classy guy.

I still kind of wish we'd kept Jones; what with Lloyd missing almost the entire season. This offense would be unstoppable.

I agree on wishing the Packers had kept him. The 2 of them might have turned into to best RB tandem in the NFL.

However, I think ultimately Gute made the right move with signing Jacobs. Jones only is under contract with the Vikings this season, maybe Gute can convince him to come home to GB in 2025!

Exactly. I have been very vocal about our Run game being critical to our total success. That was true with #33 and it’s even more true with #8.

I really hope Lloyd gets a chance to play this season. While it isn't THAT critical for Lloyd, it might give the Packers a good idea of what they have in him, but more importantly, what the position may or may not need in 2025.

Oh yeah.
I mean he had an Appendectomy. So my little brain says when he’s cleared? it’s at most minor rust. As we’ve witnessed again, the RB position is not immune to making a splash in a Rookie season. We’ve been fortunate to have a pair of options behind Josh in the meantime.

Hopefully we never see Marshawn because that means all is A ok. Although it wouldn’t surprise me to see him make some splash plays in Postseason if he’s cleared

In my mind, money aside, Josh Jacobs is a better RB than Aaron Jones. He has fumbled less, is more durable and I believe picks up more tough yards. If you compare the 2 on the chart below, Jacobs breaks a lot more tackles (28 VS 10) and his yards after contact/attempt are better. (2.4 VS 2.1).

I agree Jacobs is better and younger. Of course, I expect him to be since he makes 70% more money per year.

the best deal this year was Derrick Henry signing a 2X16Mil deal.
I’m not complaining though. GB has gotten every Penny of that 4X48Mil thus far. Both guys had residual $ leftover from their former teams.

The only ? I’d have with Henry is how much longer he can sustain this level of play. It’s incredible and he’s about to turn 31yrs in a month. Some guys just don’t stop. He’s like the RB version of Larry Fitzgerald.

Can I just add, and I mean no disrespect to Aaron Jones, Jacobs is just a maniacal runner - the kind of guy the Oline loves blocking for because he just refuses to go down. He's a hard-nosed football player that can set the tone for an offense. A tough, no nonsense on-the- field personality that guys will run thru a wall for. Talk about leadership by example - and he doesn't wear a "C" yet. This guy has no quit in him from what I can see.

...and I always liked Aaron Jones. Seriously. In my view, they're not the same back. Both great runners but just not that similar.

Jones and Dalvin Ciok were near perfect comps. I remember debating with a Vikings fan and it was hard to argue either player was better. The one thing that Jones was better was ball security. #33 was better than average in ball security but Cook was below average. That’s a really important trait imo.

Surprisingly, Josh has outperformed #33 In ball security. Like 18% more carry load, but 40% less fumble ratio. Jacobs 3, Jones 5. Jones has a better per carry and hair better per touch. But factoring in fumbles they are about dead even leaning Jacobs imo. TD’s go to Josh so he easily wins any “they are close” breaker argument. 1st Downs (Jacobs every 4.05 carries) and Points (13 TD’s)!still supersede Jones per carry. Jacobs is used like Jones and Dillon combined. It hurts his per 4.3 carry a smidge.


Josh Jacobs has a more even blend of Power and Finesse. #33 was more finesse and very slithery at 205lb. Thrn we’d turn to Dillon for a Power Run. Jacobs loses in Finesse to #33 but Jacobs Wins Power over #33.

It’s just like at QB. I’d rather have TD and ball security than Yards. Both are good but Jacobs gets a 9.1/10 RB score and Jones gets a 8.65/10
