I was outside a little while ago getting some stuff out of our car. This couple walked by and saw my Bucks flag flying. They stopped and asked if I was a Bucks fan. When I told them I was, and said I had been since day one. The woman smiled and asked, "Did you watch the game today?"

I told her I had.

Then she asked, "Do you think Kyle Kuzma can help the team?"

"Definitely." I said. "He's shown some good moves out there."

Her husband laughed and said, "His Mom is our grand niece. My Brother's daughter. Next time they play in San Antonio or Houston we could all go to the game. Kyle would get us good seats."

Needless to say, I was on board immediately.

Sounds like you'll need to buy them a few beers or hotdogs. Well worth it though.

Paul Pressey used to live near our house in Milwaukee when he played for the Bucks. Everyone knew that he bought the house, but I only saw him once in all of those years. There was no mistaking his car always parked in the driveway with the "PP 25" license plate.

Good story! A Bucks flag huh? Nice.
I have a 40' flagpole and fly the Stars and stripes, Packer flag, Badgers sports flag, Bucks flag, and Chicago Blackhawks flag. I do take the corresponding flags down during the off season. It's a busy-busy flagpole.

As a wise friend once told me V, "There are no coincidence Joe." He wasn't talking about a god necessarily, just this eery situation when everything (or most things) seem to happen for a reason.

I'm sure I have confirmation bias in believing this.

We moved to CA, just outside SF, in 2000. We had a single family home and met our next door neighbor, from NYC. When he learned we were from Wisconsin he asked if we were Packer fans. We said we were diehard fans, like everyone in WI. He goes in his garage and brings out a cheesehead.

So here is a guy from NYC, now living in Northern CA, and he is a huge Packers fane WITH a cheesehead. No coincidences indeed. And no, I didn't have a cheesehead.......

I think your point is a good one. Very few things happen just by accident. That would include accidents. Even how we meet people and relate to them isn't an accident. For some people being in the right or wrong place (take your pick) at any given time puts them in proximity to what's going to happen. To get there, you need to experience life to the fullest by putting yourself out there where you can take a punch in the nose or discover common interests between others that creates bonds.

For a long time now, I've prescribed to the theory that the "6 degrees of separation" idea is probably truer than people think.

You put this much better than I did. Thanks V.

It's on for Next Tuesday. We're going to go to the Bucks game in Houston, not San Antonio since they won't play there again until next year. We're heading up there on Monday, spending Monday and Tuesday night at The Hilton America's across the street from the stadium.

We're going to be sitting with family and friends of the Bucks players who will also be there. Nice seats from what I've been told. Quite posh, and complete with food as part of the deal. When I asked how much, the guy laughed and said, "Kyle said he's got it. A friend of his uncle is a friend of his." We're also going to be going into an area where we can spend time hobnobbing with the Bucks players and staff before they leave the stadium. A great chance to meet him and the rest of them.

Needless to say, I now have another player on the Bucks roster that I'm really cheering for. It's such a nice thing to do for someone he doesn't even know.

The only ones going is the uncle and I, so we intend enjoying the H out of it on Monday. Dinner at Pappadeaux!

Over my lifetime I've experienced so much and met so many people that I sometimes forget how many. I wouldn't even start to mention how many because nobody would believe it.
