The point is NFL scouts do know more than us. They do have insider information - medical, character, etc. So when we get so worked up that a guy is dropping maybe it is because we were just dont know as much as we think we do.
Very true and certainly an understatement. There isn't anyone posting here that has anything in the neighborhood of what the scouts and GM's know about these prospects. We are just throwing around opinions and speculation.

Every year at Baylor, he has a shoulder problem that nags him. He wears a harness during the games. It seems like the injury always flares up around mid season and then continues until the season ends. It was pretty bad this past season. Go ask any Baylor fan, they'll tell you the same thing about his shoulder. I live 10 minutes from Waco, I'm actually in Bear country.

Also, a lot of scouts and GM's see him as a 1-tech and that's it.

Perfect example as to why no one should be pissed that Ted or any GM doesn't agree with how "you" value a player.
I'm not keen on Clark as other than a 20% snap / 2-down player. Not worth a 1st. round pick.

Just because something is off with Billings that we do not know about, we do know what's right about Clark, and that's not quite enough. He'll be a solid player, but not a good value.

We play nickel quite a bit on early downs, he could see 40%+ snaps that way.

Mike Mayock on NFL Network is saying teams are (were) passing on him because he is only a run defender which is not what you want in a passing league.

The presumption here is "play well" for 20% of the snaps. I have little doubt he'll see duty in nickel. 40%? That's Raji's 2015 number. Lots of those nickel downs are run/pass tweener. I'm sure he'll do fine against the run. So make it 30%.

Like I said in another thread, had we taken Billings in the first I would have been very happy based on what I had read about him. Now, that he lasted into the fourth, I'm kind of glad we didn't. I think Clark would have been drafted ahead of him even if the Packers hadn't picked him.

When I saw all the names available with the 27th pick I was pretty happy and when I saw some of them keep slipping I was also pretty happy we hadn't taken any of them.

Clark will be a good player maybe not great but a solid starter. He prob would have been available later but I doubt he would have been there at 57. If we could have made that trade with the Broncos that the Seahawks did that would have been perfect. Still gotten Clark and an extra 4th rounder. The one pick I don't really like is kyler fackler. Watching his highlights he looks garbage and those are supposed to be highlights. Looks like he is not explosive at all looks like he's just jogging. Maybe he covers a lot of ground due to long strides or something. But if you're don't jump off the tape in college I seriously doubt you're gonna in the NFL.

The Packers have better pass rushers to play inside on passing downs.

Fackrell was an excellent third round pick in my opinion. I didn't like selecting Clark in the first and was surprised by the Davis selection as I thought there were better receivers available at that point.

As far as this whole draft pros vs. amateurs discussion goes, I have 3 words to say about it, or rather 1 number and 2 words:

Packers 2011 draft.
