I haven't made a post in a little while because I've been waiting to have something to contribute. I feel I have something. Keep in mind this is my opinion.

In free agency I believe we should sign Jared Gaither. The Ravens tendered him for a 1st round pick. Before you react let me make my case. In 2008 Gaither gave up only 3 sacks. He started 15 games and played all 16. Thats facing The pittsburg steeler when they were super hot and won the super bowl. In 2009 he started 11 games and gave up 5 sacks. He suffered a neck injury and foot last year but came back just fine. I know everyone says but he's only good in run blocking. Look at the numbers I cited. He gave up 3 sacks in 2008 after facing 2008 defensive player of the year James Harrison twice during a the Steelers super bowl run. So lets recap. He is a 24 year old proven left tackle who is a beast. I would much rather have that then a unproven LT. I believe this solves our LT issue and protects Rodgers. I would be completely happy with giving up a first round pick to get him.

Thats just how I see it. I know not everyone would see it that way.

I disagree. 8 sacks in 27 games is too much for a premier left tackle.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we got him, but I don't think it's the best move.

I just think that a young proven tackle is a great choice. I wouldn't call it best choice but its but than a unknown.Plus at this point we're not even sure there will be a good 1st round Tackle left for us.

While I agree Gaither would be a welcome addition to our line, even after signing Clifton, I think Oher would've been a better move for us in the draft last year. Yes physically Gaither is bigger, but Oher was faster and tougher to beat. There's a reason Oher's name wasn't mentioned last year when the Ravens played The Pack.
