Bears didn't give up on Gould due to performance, they just couldn't stomach paying a kicker over $4mil/yr. which is what would've been required to keep him.

Honestly, I think given what they pay guys in general, I would be more than happy if the Packers had a kicker like Tucker and paid him top dollar. Afterall, how many games come down to your kickers foot?

The funny thing about Gould, that much like Mason Crosby, he had his cold spells. So much that the Bears gave up on him. He spent his final 6 seasons in San Fran and did a pretty decent job.

Very few kickers are as good as Ravens Justin Tucker. That guy is gold and has spent all 12 seasons with the Ravens. Lifetime he has a 90.2% FG accuracy and 98.7% PAT in the regular season. In the post season, he isn't as accurate on FG's, going 17 of 21 (81%) but is 33 for 33 on PAT's.

Jason Hanson of the Lions is one who stood the test of time. Maybe not in the HOF but even a lowly Detroit team had one consistency all those years.

I've decided that the major Pro Sports Teams live in a world that I can only describe as "Playing Monopoly as an 8 year old". Money just pouring in, 1000's times more then I could ever imagine making by taking out the trash, sweeping the garage, walking the neighbors dog, etc. and I was having a lot of fun (playing the game). OK, so I never suffered a concussion, tore an ACL or ruptured an Achilles taking care of the Flander's dog, but owning Boardwalk and Park Place, with Hotels on each, felt like being Aaron Rodgers, watching the 2023 Season.
