Good on HSV for arranging another bonus two games a year for you nessie. That's good value for the money.

I'll be looking forward to 1. FC Saarbrücken – FC Würzburger Kickers the most, and I hope I'll be able to stream it. Kickers Offenbach are the strongest team in any Regionalliga and they will demolish FC Magdeburg.

Kiel - 60'er is certainly an interesting matchup, and geographically about as far apart as you can get in Germany.

I spent a sleepless night last night on my computer watching footage of Borrussia Monchengladbach. What are their fans like Nessie ??? They seemed to have a hooligan element, or was that misleading ?
Many many years ago when I supported Liverpool football club, I remember going to see Gladbach at Anfield with my dad. He later painted the team as a subutteo football team. The one with the green and black single stripe on an all white kit. I was very happy with it as subutteo did not have that kit in the selection of teams.
Did they have subutteo in Germany ?

Gladbach is also a team witch one of the richest history in German football and still has one of the largest fan bases.

A few hours are enough for Monchengladbach, there is nothing to do and see there besides the Borussia and the stadium. But only a few kms away is Dusseldorf and its old town and Altbier Way more interesting. And Gladbach recently qualified for the Champions League, perhaps they even return to Anfield Road. Just read an interesting article in our German 11 Freunde Football magazine about Liverpool and Everton. Did not know that Anfield Road and Goodison Park are less than one mile away from each other. Wish I can visit Liverpool and Anfield Road soon. Ian Rush was one of my favourite players when I was a little boy....just right after all my HSV heroes

Yes mate.... I used to work at both grounds alternate weekends, and both grounds are literally a mile and a half from my parents home. As a youngster I was an avid Liverpool fan back in the 70`s and 80`s. I am Liverpool born and bred. An Aunt of mines father was a chief scout for Liverpool back in the 70`s and I had the pleasure of meeting the greats like Hughes, Smith, and the other legend players as a birthday treat one year.

Hmmmm Bundesbiers, I still dont think that Gladbach has more of a hooligan problem than any other average Bundesliga team. What do you think is going on when HSV plays Werder, you are likely to see scenes like this as well. Or HSV against St.Pauli,Dortmund against Schalke just to name some other examples. All of these teams have a small number of idiots that call themselves fans but aren't. Years ago a Cologne fan threw a drumstick on a HSV player and the player had to leave the game because of a bleeding wound on his head. Does this make Cologne beeing a team with fans that are ready to use violence ? Certainly not. If I compare todays situation in and around the stadium with the 80's or 90's when I went to see HSV games as a boy/young man it has much improved. Hooliganism has decreased a lot, football games are much safer nowadays. Only a few teams are left where I would say they still have serious problems, just think of Hansa Rostock or Dynamo Dresden. Or especially games between Hansa or St.Pauli are very dangerous games because they also make a political statement out of it, The Right (Hansa) against the The Left (St.Pipi). Disgusting
However, I don't want to defend Gladbach, why should I, but I think we should put these scenes into the right context although I don't like to see scenes like that.

Then I searched for other instances of football hooliganism. I think the most intimidating fan I have ever seen comes from Arsenal;
