Rosenmontag nearly doesnt exist in this part of Germany, Croak ;) The largest Carnival parade in the northern part of Germany usually takes place in Braunschweig. But it was cancelled yesterday due to terror attack warnings.
http://www.dw.de/braunschweig-carnival-parade-canceled-over-islamist-terror-alert/a-18259148
Can you believe it, whats wrong with this world nowadays? But my colleagues in Dusseldorf have a day off today, Rosenmontag is like a regional holiday in Dusseldorf, Mainz or Cologne.
Minus 4 degrees fahrenheit sounds terrible...we have quite a nice day here with a little sunshine and roundabout 40 degrees F.

Off topic, but I've been watching "band of brothers" again. Major **** Winters is from my home area. He was my Dad's age. I wish I'd have gotten to know him. No offense Nessie. Members of our family also fought with Germany in WWII.

His housekeeper comes into my wife's office. She was telling my wife that he was a tremendous man all around and a real pleasure to work for. She said she got to meet the other guys in the group.

Must admit that I didnt know **** Winters before you mentioned him Croak. Interesting man. Also didnt remember Ronald Spiers to be the commander of the Spandau prison. Still remember all the headlines and special news shows when he commited suicide because he was on of the biggest **** leaders that was still alive those days.

The men of Easy Company were normal men who did extraordinary things so that Nessie and we could live in societies that are free and not afraid of their government. AND we have the freedom to complain about the stinking Spanish refs. ;)

This is one of the worst days in our long history .... was eine Scheisse !

You guys are not going to believe this one... (as it still seems kind of sureal to think of it myself)... but I just had a farkin' heart attack on Valentines Day... (might as well match the occasion with the proper logo). To make long story short, I delevered myself to a hospital where the issue was diagnosed. They called an ambulance and the paramedic kept me alive long enough for me to be delivered to another hospital that could deal with my situation. I spent a few days in intensive care and today they let me out. I am fine, but still feel rather weary from the entire ordeal.

Get well soon mate.
Good to hear that you're feeling better. But I must say that I'm kind of surprised that they already let you out of the hospital.
Any plans to have a rehab? I think thats obligatory in Germany.
However, fortunately you were able to recognize the signs of a heart attack early enough.

Things work a bit differently in the land on no cost health care. I received excellent treatment, but also the bum's rush when things were looking up for me.

True indeed nessie. The first rehab appointment is on Tuesday. It appears that it is going to take some time to shake the effects of this ailment.

Anyone else think Dante is out of a job now that Badstuber is healthy?
No doubt that a healthy Badstuber is better than Dante, Croak. But I have my doubts that Badstuber will ever be able to play on that high level he was befor of all his injuries. So let's wait what happens and if Badstuber can stay healthy.

The past few mornings the temperatures have been below 0 fahrenheit here. So my daughter wanted to borrow a scarf to wear to school. I offered her the Bayern scarf and the Harrisburg City Islanders scarf. She scoffed at the Bayern scarf!:eek:

Boy, you try to rear these kids with good values and see what happens.:confused:

Anyone know what I can do to keep @Croak from watching tv on Friday around 2:30pm eastern time? :D

I think a little curried goat meat is in store for this weekend. I probably won't see the match. I'm in the Carolinas for my son's wedding. I didn't even set the DVR because I was so excited for this wedding
