I think a lot of the reason is because he carries the team, half the time all alone. I agree with you that Aaron’s personality has gotten worse over the years, more egotistical, more “aggressively opinionated” what have you. It’s the fact that without Aaron we would have a significantly worse performing team since Favre left, he literally carries the team either from bad coaching staff choices or a now former GM who ran the team into the ground.

I never had the honour of seeing Bart Starr play, but from things I've seen and read he never threw any of his players under the bus like Aaron seems to do at times (just my opinion of course ). Starr seemed to be a leader.

That former GM drafted him and built a Super bowl winning team. Yes, I think it was time for him to leave... but he deserves more respect than your post suggests.
He has the credit of drafting Aaron, even I can’t argue that. That one great thing doesn’t excuse the rest though. It’s like saying “This guy here donates half his salary to this charity, he’s a great man!” Yet he’s really Ed Gein. TT was a HORRIFIC GM, he was handed a SB caliber team he didn’t build it. How many championships have we won during his reign? By championships I mean the the one that every team aims for not NFC central or even NFC itself, SB champs. No, TT does not deserve more respect than I’m giving him. As a GM he was terrible, hopefully in this new position he can make more lasting contributions to the team. TBH it really seems like his thinking was along the lines of, “ok, did something good, really good, now I can sit back and coast, enjoy the free ride the rest of the way” I am most likely wrong about that lol but that’s what it felt like when he was GM.

I'd have to go with Reggie or Charles Woodson. Rodgers is up there and i don't mind his attitude. it's a quit with the crap, hardwork is what pays the bills and brings success. I don't have a problem with it.

If I had to throw out what players did off the field and only consider what they did on game day, hands down its Favre for me. I know a lot of people didn't like the way it ended, nor what he did after, but he brought me to the TV/stadium every game, just to see what he would do next. Favre was like watching myself as a kid, playing the game he loved to play. Some will only remember him for the mistakes he made on and off the field, I will always remember him for simply being the QB that found a way to amaze me almost every Sunday by being a kid playing in the NFL.

Rodgers has a chance to pass Favre in my "all time favorites", but until he can shake this pouty attitude he has developed, #4>#12 for me.

Yea I try to look at Favre objectively, he DID a lot of good things for GB. Just difficult to ignore the intentional slight. I am trying though lol.

There are days where I really miss Jermichael Finley as well. He wasn't great by any means but I liked watching him play also

Favre is one of the favorites, but Reggie and Charles are ahead of him. I don't much care for how it all ended, but it was never going to end well when a HOF'er that wasn't done was being replaced with an up and comer who's time needed to start. I can look past all that. He definitely made football fun on Sunday's.

I can see a lot of people saying "Reggie or Wood", but I don't think either of those players were the guy everyone was talking about around the world every week during the season. Nor were they on the team long enough to have that real lasting effect. I'm not saying Favre deserves all the credit for taking the Packers out of the dark days of the post Lombardi era, but I think a lot of people, whether they hated or loved Favre/Packers, were enamored with what Favre had done or was about to do next and that made them tune into the Packers.

Ok I know I should just stick to my original decision and ignore this whole thing but whatever...
Your quote above says that all Thompson did was draft Rodgers.. and that he was handed a Superbowl caliber team...that is factually incorrect. The following is a list of noteable players from that Super bowl team that were either drafted by, or otherwise acquired under Ted Thompson. This list is not all inclusive but should make the point.
Aaron Rodgers, Brian Bulaga, Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, T.J Lang, Josh Sitton, A.J. Hawk, Clay Matthews, Nick Collins, Sam Shields, Tramon Williams, Charles Woodson, Ryan Grant, Jermichael Finley B.J Raji...

No Thompson was not handed that roster he built it... For God’s sake he came to the Packers in 2005... the Super bowl was in 2010.. how could he have been handed that roster?

I would say its more of a combined effort, Ron brought in Reggie and built the team up from constant 4-12, 6-10 seasons to playoff bound. Favre solidified the team, brought the flashiness and showmanship that caught peoples attention, at least more-so than Reggie who was an already high profile name from his days in Philly.

Well, that would be Jerry Kramer. BEGGED for #64 for 3 years of junior high, 4 years of high school varsity and my one year of college ball.

My favorite ALL AROUND PACKER is of course Ron Wolf.

If I had to pick one I'd probably say Ahman Green although its probably a toss up between him and James Lofton. William Henderson, Robert Brooks and James Jones round out the top 5. My first favorite Packer player was Steve Odom

People do know they can be happy TT is gone without saying asinine stuff like "he was handed a SB caliber team"?
