Thought I’d post this for you Football Buffs. It’ll probably end up on a Trivia Question one day.

Tonight we saw an attempt on a
Fair Catch Kick. It’s only been successful 6 previous times since 1921. The first successful one by Curly Lambeau from 35 yards. Tonight we saw the previous record broken. A 57 yarder with room to spare made by Cameron ****er.

I was at this game. Part of the Lions 0 fer the season. Just short is correct. I misremember it landing past the end line.

Not sure if you recall but on opening day of the 1964 season Paul Hornung returned from his suspension and just before half he DID make a 52 yard free kick against the Bears in a 23-12 victory. Unfortunately, the rest of the season was dismal for Hornung. His kicking cost us what likely would have been the conference title.
The Bears returned the favor in 1968 when Mac Percival made a free kick at the end of the game against us for a 13-10 victory at Lambeau.
