I saw that. What a draft selection!

When we selected Edgerrin I was literally a hootin’ and hollerin”. My wife is a witness.

There’s a funny video by Tom Grossi I’ll see if I can find it and post. It’s good for a chuckle. It’s reminiscent of my feelings when he was drafted.

I said we’d be formidable at LB if we got Cooper. I already touted Eric Wilson from the Vikings before many knew what to think. We knew McDuffie was at least solid.
Wilson, Cooper, Walker,
McDuff, Cooper, Walker

My fear is how the team makes these decisions.A rookie in a playoff game? Nah, he gets used sparingly. He might make a mistake or two, but with his proven performance and ability I'd have him on the field all day.

Absolutely. He's a game changer. He needs to have a big game and help slow Barkley.

Actually, if you watch Cooper closely he makes a lot more than one or two glaring mistakes per game. What helps is that he makes good plays after bad plays, so he covers it up well. I think that this is the ultimate reason why the coaches have been nursing him along. He still needs lots of coaching on the sideline. It's not like Quay is the guy that we want giving Cooper advice in-game due to Cooper being on the field 100% of the time.

IMO this guy would go in the first round EASY in a re-draft.

Arguably has been the best linebacker in the league - not just rookies, the whole league - over the last month or so.

It’s true. If you look at Coopers worst 5 games such as Chicago last week 1/5/2025
85.7% comp %
(4 missed tackles) We are 1-4 record

When Cooper is on? In the other 9 of 14 games he’s played we are 8-1

I call him a dynamic player. He plays like a Day1 selection 2/3 time, Yet he’s still got some hiccups of inconsistency peppered in (11.4% missed tackle rate). For some idea of where that is Quay Walker career is 5.5% missed tackles. So dynamic meaning he either catches them for a 1 yard gain or -3 yard loss OR he misses altogether.

I think part of it is he’s still growing. Also He plays fast and downhill so he’s making more TFL and disruptive plays on the ones he’s finishing.

Edgerrin Cooper joins elite company in the tackles for loss category as a rookie!! Some of the more recent rookies who had 13 or more TFL's are: Micah Parsons, Joey & Nick Bosa, Maxx Crosby, Bradley Chubb, Aaron Donald to name a few. He also did this playing far fewer snaps than ALL of the others.
