No. Nope. Not gonna happen. Don't want him. Can't use him. Don't want to play him. Don't want to pay him. The sell-by date came last season, there's no going back.

It's pretty simple, really.

He was not a good ILB, by the way.
Hold on Fellows, don't forget this is Rodgers idea. and we certainly wouldn't want
to upset him and give him another reason to jump the fence again if we don't give what he wants.

A-rod is the best there is at QB, but I still think it's a joke this team continues to let
one player control them and kisses his @ss going it.
It takes more then a great QB to win games.

Whoa now, how do you know if he keeps in touch with college friends? That's silly. And "most" of his ex-pro friends can't stand him? Also nonsense. Not liking the guy is fine, but just spewing hateful garbage? Why bother?
Of course I don't know. I said it was just a guess, so relax. It will take time but you too will come around to his bs.

It was several years with us that Clay could not beat an average OT. He might get a sack now and then from a bad player opposite him or a smart play on his part or a good scheme. He still had quickness. But I was seeing that decline for years and so was not upset when we let him go. It is part of the game. Some people seem to want to hold on to players even when it is not good for the team. They have a tough time seeing things objectively about their favorite players. imo

There is a reason Clay was released and didn't play in 2020.

Ok, he got Cobb back. Fine.. whatever. Could see Cobb helping the team out. But if Rodger's goal now is to get every possible person back that has been 'wronged' in his mind at the expense of other players then trading him can't come soon enough. Let him play GM on another team.

Clay had a hot start in 2019, but then broke his jaw and required surgery. He missed three games and finished with 8 sacks. It sounds like he sat out last year and collected 2m doing so after being released. He probably still has something left in the tank, but he'd be a locker room guy for this run. They probably want him because they feel he'd add something to the morale of the team and offers intangibles in the locker room. They also love to joke about WWE stuff, so I think he adds to that as well. If that's the case, and he signs for a few mill, I'd be for it. One-year deal, cheap cap hit.

Since the mastermind of this century is calling the shots, lets go sign all his buddies from college. Oh wait, there aren't any. Lets go out and sign all his great ex-pro "friends". Oh wait, most of them can't stand him. That's just a guess, so relax. If these are his incredible insights and strategies that the FO has not tapped into, thank God that he will only be back for a year. Hopefully, 1 year won't be enough for #12 to totally poison the Packer organization. How does this guys head fit through any door?
Did Rodgers bang your gf?

I'd prefer him at ILB over OLB, but we'll see

Matthews was an average inside linebacker at best to begin with seven years ago. He wouldn't present an upgrade over anyone currently on the roster at the position.

We are super thin at edge and our ilb group is not very good either. He didn't play last year and should be super cheap. And he's a legend. For those reasons, I'd be fine with it, but I'd have zero expectation that he would be productive. He could probably play a small % of snaps, be a good veteran leader, and produce a couple of splash plays over the course of the year.

Pretty sure the tweets were all joking though? Who knows anymore...

The Packers have enough depth at outside linebacker as long as the Smiths and Gary stay healthy. For example, last season other OLBs aside of them combined to play 84 snaps. There's no reason to bring Matthews in for that.
